How do you open your Nintendo DSi ( NDSi NDS i )? See this video and know that it is possible. For sure, you need proper tools. Thanks to www.totalconsole.com for the equipment.

I've watched a few videos and am still having trouble with the hinge (well, the two halves of the upper part)...can you describe exactly where it needs to be pried apart? I'm on the seam, but it just won't budge very far. Thanks!

People, this video is intended for the technically and mechanically inclined, and not for individuals that don't know which way to un-tighten and tighten a screw. Btw, you don't cut any wires or ribbons, they are fastened on by releasable connectors. Geico isn't the only way to save tons of money.

music is taken from shadow of the beast ( game on amiga... .mod... a bit irritating after 15 loops) man you didn't show how to pass the screen ribbon through the shell hinge... any chance to redo that using a closer view? (it is hard not to tear up the ribbon!:/)

Where is a good place to buy a new custom case (for both sides, battery and camera side), as my old case is starting to break, but the console itself is in perfect condition. (i have a DSi XL btw)

@kkgladeslider I had the same problem with my dsi turning off by itself but the problem was my brightness was too low , of your brightness is low try making it lighter

I was playing on my ds a moment ago i accidently dropped it and it broke so i threw it high in the air the touchscreen broke i smashed it with a screwdriver and took it totally apart :D now i feel good

Thanks. Tried to opened it and did not know that there are two more screws under the red rubber ...stuff. Anyway I had to fix the right button camera, was not working at all. I opened it up and the plastic cover of it (the button, spring...), and applied a bit of WD-40 on it, pressed a few times, assembled back and voila, it is working like new , the button is back on track :). I will trade it, DSI + €80 = new 3DS. I think is worth!
