In this video, Adam goes over how the hip work to be open at impact. This is a very important element to the golf swing because it produces more speed and pop to the ball. However, simply rotating the hips without arm connection will cause spin out (weak shots). Adam will go over several feels that will help build connection so you can freely rotate through the ball.

Have to say, this is the only coaching channel that I watch and then apply. Has made a massive difference to my game. Spinning out is my bad shot and so having the "fast hands" thought has helped a lot.

This is a very common fault many golfers have. Remember that the golf swing is like a horse race with a photo finish. The hips have a shorter distance to travel than the hands do. Meaning we have to give them a head start in order to get that nice impact finish.

@@PorzakGolfthis seems like a modern representation of Jack’s belief that”….i don’t believe that you can start your hands too early in the downswing as long as you move to your left side.” You are demonstrating the perfect blend of rotation and hand speed. Really brilliant stuff. If I could afford you I would pay you!

Porzak is really good. I like Cogorno Golf (sometimes) and Padraig Harrington is really solid too. For short game, Dan Grieve has improved my game exponentially. Takes a while for his system to click but it’s a game changer imo.

On KZbin, there is Porzak and then there is everyone else. It's not even close. The part about maintaining connection and speeding up the hands is so crucial. For a long time I followed some "others" on KZbin and bought into the "keep your hands up and just rotate" garbage. Lots of weak pushes and flip hooks followed. Adam's relentless focus on connection and how it remains important no matter what concept he is teaching is what really sets him apart. Thank you for all you do. Really want to come out to San Diego for a clinic or private lesson.

Can’t tell you how much this video just helped me. Everything in my swing was looking decent except I looked exactly like this guy at impact. Turning the hips fully before hearing the ball was the best feedback. Then the feeling for me was like an ab crunch under my right ribcage. Never hit an iron so straight and pure!

I think that your Hip-and-Grip drill is fantastic when you say "here comes the hands and here comes the hips" and you actually give a demonstration and we can see them move together with our own eyes. I was having a little problem with getting the correct "feeling" on this. To help me get the correct feeling, I put an alignment stick through my two front belt loops and let it stick out on the left side. This allowed me to actually see my hips turning while my hands are coming down at the same time, and see them meet at impact! Thanks for all your excellent videos!

I’ve been watching your videos for almost two years now. They have helped my game so much. That is even an understatement. I feel the only part I’m missing is I would love to see you play 9-18 holes for a video talking through your mindset, strategy, shot choice for each shot. Keep up the amazing content!!

Wow Wee!!! That says it all about this video! Adam, this student has the exact same problem that I have and the way that you explain the solution is awesome. And your "The Get Go" drill and demonstrations are the icing on the cake! You are amazing. I think that I found your videos just in time because I was about to throw in the towel and give up on learning golf entirely. Thanks a Million!

Porzak! Been a fan for a while, only golf educational content I watch, PERIOD! Booking a session with you guys my next trip out west (east coast guy). Awesome vid but had some food for thought for you and the team. With your recent teaming with CS1, a video spotlighting specific exercises and stretches making the hip turn (and upper/lower body separation) physically easier, would compliment this video and help a lot of players, including myself!

Hey Adam Love the videos like Usual. Just to better understand this. The Bottom half ( Hips) Rotate like a merry Go Round. The Arms stay in Front of The chest kinda like the Putting Posture Video. Both then Together Rotate as one Upper Body (Chest , Arm's, and Hands) And Belt Buckle. Another thing I'm thinking as a visual would be Taking a Club and Connecting it to the Belt Buckle then Rotate Around the Spine Back and Thru? I'm not sure if my comment is confusing or my thinking is Correct.

I’ve been working on my hip rotation a lot lately but Sometimes my front foot will leave the ground and I almost sort of hop out of my swing. I hit the ball decent enough but I feel like it looks ugly and it’s gotta hurt my consistency 😂

My issue is my hips tend to beat my hands on the downswing but when I try to adjust, I tend to hit a low hook. Should I feel as if the hips start to turn before the club starts to travel towards the ball?

What I get out of the video is that in the back swing the level rotational movement of the butt of the club should follow at the same time the rotational-back movement of the upper body (shoulders sternum whatever) and in the down swing the rotational movement around the body of butt of the club should follow the left hip pocket going back and around.. Coordinating butt of club movement on a level plane around the body should connect to level rotational movement of upper body in backswing and lower body (exemplified by lead hip pocket) in downswing in order to swing in sync. Whew quite a mouthful but there it is from my perspective.

A rely good video that captures this specific point on hip movement and more was recently done by Josh Park. The key to a good swing is in the hips!

I’m a bit confused. There is a lot of online banter about using ground forces. But it seems that pushing from the ground will lift the hip onto the Ferris wheel instead of staying on the merry go round.
@atxrich
@atxrich 3 ай бұрын
There are 3 types of ground forces- lateral, vertical and rotational. Most ams lack the proper rotational ground force to get that lead hip to clear…that’s the point of this lesson.

Not gonna work long term for his body type and will most likely lead to back pain and possibly injury for him. He has a long torso and short legs. You can clearly see his finish looks unbalanced. He needs to be more upright
@merciejo1
@merciejo1 3 ай бұрын
how do you suggest he makes his turn?
@Jman-co7xw
@Jman-co7xw 3 ай бұрын
@@merciejo1 as a coach your gonna have to figure that out but that finish position is not good his lower back is absorbing most of the energy from the swing. With a longer torso you really don’t want the hips much further ahead unless you have extremely strong legs. Some people because of body type are better off swaying the hips more than turning. Never sacrifice safety of the body for better ball striking. It’s a game. If you get him in a better balanced finish position then great. But his finish in this video is gonna cause a lower spine injury if he keeps at it.

He's clearly not the finished product yet and let's not pretend this (big) improvement makes him the finished article and that's his finish forever more now
