Gold as always. Can you comment on that 45 degree wrist hinge when it comes to the driver? Is the feel still to have the hands in club out with the driver as well?

As a 10.5 handicap trying to get to single digits these videos are pure gold. I walked 9 today and worked on this at the range before the round. Then I focused on it during my practice swings. Got up to the ball and just made great contact the whole round. Not too bad, I hit 5 out of 7 fairways and 4 greens in reg. Two of the missed greens were just short by 2-5 yards so more of a wrong club choice, not swing related. I had 4 pars and 5 bogeys. First three bogeys were because my putts burned the right edge. Going back to watch the video on every putt is a straight putt.

Adam, when you mentioned your dad about practicing your take away reminds me of what my high school baseball coach would always say, “practice does not make perfect, perfect practice makes perfect.” The point being is, don’t practice bad habits.

Question for you-- from the mechanical pov, could you share why most tutorials focus on the lead arm more than the trail arm? I believe trail arm can control the club and desired patterns more ease into a better sequence & tempo? TIA,

Good explanation of the direction of the trail hand hinge with the finger pointing. Can you do something similar for lead hand?😊

This video definitely resonates with me. I've actually tried to hinge it slowly at the beginning of the takeaway and then blending my turn into it and it's definitely a much better position! I have always just immediately started my backswing with a huge turn and that def had me sucked in.

Realistic rehearsal with the club on the ground! This will be THE thing for me the next time at the range. Just like you pointed out, my rehearsal backswing (with club head hovering a foot in the air) looks good, but the real backswing always looks terrible, and I have been struggling with this. I will definitely practice this way now. Thank you for this, Adam.
@PorzakGolf
@PorzakGolf 6 ай бұрын
Yup! A very common mistake that a lot of golfers do in the rehearsal. A good way to practice this is to 1) hover the club a foot from the ground and go to your set position. 2) set club on the ground and go back to the same set position from when you were hovering the club

I have never been a training aid type guy but I did purchase one that was highly recommended to me to help me with this exact thing, and it works wonders. At least it did for me. It gets you to the position you talk about here in the video and I love it. Your tips work great in conjunction with the device to help ensure that you are using it properly. Not sure if it's ok to give it a plug on your video but the initials are PS. Most will know what I'm referring to. Great video as always!

This is a great video. I would love to see a video about the role of the left hand in a right handed swing, because I feel like the left hand should be dominant for consistency. There's a great video of John Daly talking about pitching and the takeaway where he basically says he practices left handed and feel like the right hand is along for the ride when gripping the club. Would you consider exploring that in a video?

Love the bump at setup. Works through the all the clubs in the bag❤. In your opinion, why is this not discussed/recommended in “general” golf instruction?

I noticed that the weight is out on his left toe post impact and up into the finish and his foot spins out. I do that too. What is the key to getting the weight and pressure on the left heel instead of the toe?

I just played with a man everyone else called mr chippy. First time meeting him. He’s about 60 I’d say. His backswing went about hip height, maybe slightly higher. Yet he was playing these 250 yard drives with a draw in the middle of the fairway every time. The same with his irons, he’d drive it dead straight. Then pull a mid iron, do the same short backswing and get it on the green every time. I have no clue how he got so much power from his backswing, it was crazy to watch. And I saw why they called him mr chippy. He chipped in about 3 times in 18 rounds it was crazy to watch lol. Meanwhile I topped half my tea shots and chunked all my approach shots
