I feel like this video would not only help with goalkeepers but with outfield players and coaches who are learning about fear of the ball, etc. it was an amazing video that helped a lot!

Thanks a lot, @jackcho3450, really means a lot 🙏 My focus with this channel is obviously anyone interested in goalkeeping, but I do agree that this video would be beneficial for others than goalkeepers. Fears are fears no matter where you play on the field and something everyone can relate to, no matter who or where you are in life!

Hey, I've been watching you for a few months now,and i love your content, you explain everything so clear it can't be more clear.I really needed this video, cause i have anxiety before matches, and also have a fear of ball. I jus noticed you really have been in my shoes,in exactly same situation. One thing i want to ask you is how did you win against your inner thoughts/inner demons? When i started practicing visualization,my inner thoughts just make me fail every time. Now after more practice,i can visualise it approximately 9/10 times, but the still don't let me rest at all, they remin me of my bad moments, and they are problem for me not just in football, but in life, they litteraly think instead of me,but against me.If you have any tips, please share them with me,love from Serbia🇷🇸🇷🇸

@@teodorlazarevic5612 Hey man ☺️ Thanks for your comment and thank you for following and interacting 🙏 Yes. That used to be me. Simply afraid of playing football. And it's the number one (and probably only reason why I never became a PRO). I had all the talent in the world but my head and mentality was literally holding me back. As you also say, one thing that helped me a lot was visualization. In the beginning, it was really difficult and my thoughts kept drifting away and I was constantly thinking about other thing or seeing myself fail. But I just kept fighting these thoughts and kept coming back on track. I used to have a trigger word for when negatives thoughts popped up in ly head. My trigger word was simple, it was "STOP!". And I would sometimes say it out loud as well. Another thing that is massively underrated is positive self-talk. The way you talk and think about yourself really impacts your performance. If you keep telling yourself that you suck or keep shouting at yourself, you'll become a lot more nervous and afraid. Changing your thoughts from "I can't do this" into something realistic like "I'm improving every day" makes a huge difference. One simple thing that helped me was also: instead of saying "I'm nervous today", I'd say "I'm excited today". It has more positive meaning. And I'd even tell my coach, friends and teammates "boy, I'm excited today. I can't wait for the game to begin". Your mind believes what you tell it repeatedly ☺️ ONE MORE THING, learn to laugh and smile on the field. Even nodding your head. It's very difficult to be negative when you do these things. And when I was really nervous before a big game, I'd use my breathing. 4 seconds in, hold 4 secs, breath out 4 secs, hold 4 and repeat it. Do this 4-5 times or more and you'll naturally lower your heartrate. I hope this helps 🙏

@@GroundGloryGoalkeepingThanks🙏🙏.I really feel blessed, finding someone with the same problem, same love for goalkeeping, with much more experience, then me,will truly be a game-changer for me.Also i have a few questions.Do you still hear the voice sometimes?Do you/Did you hear it in a normal life?Do you try to ignore it,or you try to get rid of it, or ignoring it will make it disappear? Also thanks for the tips, I'm sure they will mean a lot❤️❤️🙏🙏

Many goalkeepers experience this but they're often too proud to admitting it, unfortunately. The first step to overcoming is to admit and talk about it. It's the most normal thing in the world for goalkeepers. I don't hear them as much anymore, no. With experience and with practice, I've learned to think positively. That doesn't mean that I'm arrogant or egocentric though (hehe)... Well, for me, the fear used to come the days before the match. I used to get negative thoughts like "fake an injury so I don't have to play", or "just say you're sick", or "what if I misjudge a cross" or "what if I lose the ball into the net" or my BIGGEST challenge "what if your goal kicks will suck and everyone will laugh and make fun of you". In the beginning, I used to ignore it and I just played the game while being afraid all the time but with time I started working on it with the help of sport psychology and it has really helped. Don't get me wrong, I can still get nervous, especially towards the end of the game and if the game is close, but I'm a lot better at handling that today.

I think the reason with me is lack of confidence in myself rather then fear of mistakes or pain therefore i feel like i can never give 100% of effort in 1vs1 and hesitate too much also diving is another problem for me since i am a new goalkeeper
