Just ordered one. New Pilot canopy is no longer behaving like an aggressive cobra but still can see how easy it would make packing. Make it much easier not to end up sweating on it :-)

I tried this yesterday on my Pilot 250 canopy with 180 jumps on it (still slippery and crispy). Worked the first time! I have had a lot of issues getting that canopy into the d bag up until I got this tool. Thank you!

Just ordered for my Sabre 2 230 with less than 100 jumps on it. I used to pay packers and psychopack when I am not too lazy. Hopefully with this it will be easier. Great to hear it works well on your 250. I thought my 230 will be too big.

First of all be sure about your D bag. Is it the right size for your canopy? If it is ok then follow this 3 simple rules and you will be able to get that snake into the d bag. 1. Air out all the time. 2. Control the canopy all the time, dont let it breath, it is a live sponge searching for air to get big and make your life hard. 3. When the moment is coming to get the canopy fold in to the d bag just remenber: It is not the canopy geting in to the d bag, it is the d bag dressing the canopy. Finally, do it slow and practice all the time repeating the most difficult parts to you one and again and again until you master the technic. I hope you have sucessfull triying.

that is why this tool is so nice. You do not need to worry about these steps. This simple tool makes it easy to get in the d bag without worrying about controlling the canopy with your thighs, legs, arms, etc.

Just got a pilot 210 with only 20 jumps on it and my pack monkey just arrived today. Haven't packed a canopy since 2005 and used to psycho pack, hoping I can do more than one jump instead of trying to pack the whole day

someone loaned me theirs on saturday. it was my first packing job on my own and i just kept messing up. New canopy, new packer, LOTS of walking away and repacking after i calmed down. the guy saw me having trouble and offered his pack monkey. things went a whole lot better after that and i actually got it in the D bag. i took too long packing and didnt make the last ride up to test my pack job. i watched several videos on how to pack the sabre 3 and i did the required class to get an A but it doesnt prepare you for the frustrations of packing a new canopy or knowing if youre actually doing it correctly. My next trip out ill be placing most of my faith in the rigger who packed my reserve and hoping he doesnt have to prove his worth

As a new jumper and packer (45 jumps) with a mostly new Sabre 3 190 ( about 100 jumps on it) I really struggle with getting the canopy in the dbag. I got a pack monkey last week and it definitely helps. Would recommend to anyone struggling to get their canopy in the dbag!

I just bought a new canopy , the safire 3 169 , and i’ll buy that because I’m tired to packed the fu*** sliders canopy 😅😅. I think that’s a good something for a new jumpers or new canopies frome big to medium sizes! ( sorry for English i from Spain 😊)

Does anybody else make their s-folds in reverse order? I've always made my first s-fold where the slider is, then the second by folding the top of the canopy (closest to the d-bag) onto first s-fold, knees on top of the 2 s-folds, tuck "ears" under knees, then slide d-bag underneath & over the two s-folds. That's how I envisioned this working - going over the two s-folds & then into the bag, because I have a tiny d-bag & super-slippery zero-p canopy with less than a hundred jumps on it. Piece of cake with my old F-111, but current canopy tries to slip out from under knees, which sparked my interest in this. Willing to give it a try for sure!

Jay Ocean I agree. I am still practising packing to get my packing certificate. I always move the bag to the slider direction. Having said that, I have seen people putting entire canopy into bag in one time and also seen one s fold first and then the second one, as we see here. But alwayd bag goes to s-fold, s fold/slider side is never pulled into the bag, I haven’t seen it from my instructors at least.

@@ErsanYolcu Same here - in fact, Friday I was chatting with my rigger when he put it in the bag as shown in the video; I asked him about it, and he said he does as in video because it's easier for him to get into the bag. I haven't tried it this way yet, but have DZ packers using method in video. Note: I learned to pack in 1998, lol

FFS just learn to pack!! My avarage time was 4 mins Stiletto 120 using nothing but my hands. Waste of money!!

4 mins is pretty impressive Clive, that is among the fastest I have ever seen. But I am sure you realize that packing is a skill, and some people are more inclined or better practiced that others. For example, some have smaller hands and can't control the canopy as well as big-handed people (like many lady skydivers). Some are older and have bad knees or are developing arthritis in their hands, and packing hurts. They want to make it as easy as possible. Many are new jumpers and just want to get on more loads, since they don't have a ton of pack jobs yet. Some see a drastic improvement in how neatly they can pack, and this makes them more confident in their pack jobs. Some can now easily get a new, slippery canopy in the bag without sweating all over it (which I hear commonly). If you disagree with this, that's fine with me. Pack Monkey isn't for everyone.

@@packmonkeydesigns But I am 5.5 small hands my wife is 5.1 and could pack quicker than me! It's all technique. By the way we were AFF instructors and camera in the middle 90s had to pack quick sometimes over 10 jumps a day, great day's made a ton of money. Nice chatting to you, good luck with the product.

@@cliveholyoak1428 in those days (1980 - 1995) I could pack quick as well - the canopies were different and the bags were bigger (just had a long chat with my rigger about ): I am small too with small hands, and I find it really hard to get it in the bag, especially with a new Sabre 3 . So I am grateful for a tool that might just make it a touch easier.

Looking at the videos you posted about knots, it seems you have a gift with using your hands, and I can imagine that putting the canopy in the bag is not too difficult for you. So totally understandable that you wouldn't want or need a tool like Pack Monkey. BUT: Not everyone has your skills. Many people that write in to me privately have swelling or a bit of arthritis in their hands (older skydivers), and are very grateful that Pack Monkey exists since it relaxes the packing burden on already painful hands. Another group are those with small hands, particularly lady skydivers, and they simply do not have as much control over the canopy as those with bigger hands. And beyond that, there are those that just like the easier method which yields basically identical pack jobs every time. So I can see your side: pack monkey is not for you. But everyone in the sport is not like you. James.

I can't quite tell if this comment is sarcastic or not. In case it is not, check out another video posted showing the unpacking of the parachute (after packing with Pack Monkey) showing that the slider and parachute remain neat and orderly after s-folding: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o2fLcqahhsitf5I Pack Monkey is not for everyone, but making unsubstantiated claims (i.e. "it surely won't be on the inside") is dishonest and lacks integrity.
