Just did a 5 miler/40# yesterday, one tip for civ or people rucking recreationally and not timed is to keep a hammock in your ruck it’s lightweight doesn’t take much room and quick setup. Let’s you get your feet up off the ground on a break or at your destination it’s peak relaxation 👌🏽

I bought one of those rucking plates, used it one. The problem is that you cannot allocate the weight to the top of the ruck. I still use it to exercise, but I think that using everyday gear to add weight is more helpful (and realistic). Especially when I go out in the winter when the temperature is below zero I fill my pack with gear that might be helpful in case the weather turns. Thank you for your video.

Yeah that's a big problem if the weight is not center shoulder blades area after a km gravity drags you down if you have a European style ruck I put a bucket In mine so when I placed the weight it sits higher, I also found that if I did not do this, a weight might sit properly at the start but after 5 miles it can sink, the lightest I do for rucking is 65 pounds and the heaviest I done is 110pounds, a goruck bag is designed to hold a plate

As a backpacker, really good gouge on using bulk to fill up a pack. SO MANY PACKS DO NOT CARRY WEIGHT WELL WHEN NOT FILLED OUT. While some packs really can cinch down almost any load, most of them really need to be filled out with stuff to distribute weight properly so that you're not fighting with the pack the whole time you're wearing it. Excellent vid.

Just started at 53 YO in rucking. I am about 2 weeks in and using known paths. I ruck about 2 mi per day but will upgrade soon. I am using the molle2 large ruck and also have the ILBE that I have not used yet. I dialed in about 20 lbs so far dry weight. Then I add water usually 1 liter so not much. I will add more weight in a 2 weeks. So far each walk is easier. I have been averaging about 2.5 miles no ruck during my work hours my average time rucking is about 18 min / mi. I will continue until my miles and minutes drop and weight increases. So far all of your advice is working well. I intend to use what I am learning to keep on keeping on. Thank you

Seeing the way the pack sits on your back seems so comfortable. Since i use my prehistoric pack for camping needs only i always jam as much as possible inside. I feel like a dummy after seeing your video about keeping things dry. I would use a bunch of small plastic bags to keep clothing and other stuff that i can't afford to get wet. I'm going to try outline my bag like yours with a single strong plastic bag. I'm sure i will gain more space due to all the air pockets i was getting with individual small bags. Thanks again
