How To Pack Orders - SMALL BUSINESS EDITION

Once a year Uline has free shipping with orders over $500. I usually save up during the year and place a large bulk order. It will usually last me 6-8 mos which helps cut down on their shipping costs. I also know that not everyone has the room to store a ton of boxes and shipping materials. Hope the info helps someone 😊. Is it weird that I love packing orders?! I dream of having a brick and mortar... all of the retail stuff like setting up displays and counting inventory and all that... love it. I struggle with efficiency with the weights of packages - the estimates in my Shopify app never end up accurate so I have to weigh every box AFTER I pack it to print the shipping label to make sure it's the right weight. Drives me nuts. I should probably just over-estimate everything but I don't want to waste money on postage I don't need. But I guess time is money too.... decisions decisions. Do you ever have decision fatigue as a one-woman-show? I'm on that struggle bus, too! Thanks for all the work you put into sharing this info with us!

You’re not alone! 😂. I had that situation in the past. I finally had to take a morning and go product by product to check my weights. Also I use Pirate Ship. So between the two platforms (Shopify and Pirate Ship) they learn what boxes I use for product combinations and the price is usually on point. It just takes some tweaking from time to time.
