Hello Amber, great videos and I also use only INSL-X Stix Bonding Primer. It is the best on the market as far as I am concerned. Thank you for all of your videos!

This looks great. I'm screwing my own courage to the sticking place for a similar bathroom renovation. Question: did you also do the backsplash of the vanity? I have a very similar vanity to yours, but an uglier color of granite. It has a backsplash and I know it's usually advised to remove the backsplash and do it lying flat and then replace it, but I don't know how to do that.

I LOVE this. Question, how durable is the countertop? Especially for a kitchen?
@a_m_b_o2 жыл бұрын
It holds up beautifully! This is the same coating they use in many bars and restaurants on table tops and countertops!

How bad is the smell of the oil based enamel? & how long did it take to prime the shower & top it with the oil based enamel? I'm looking to do this exact thing to our shower only, but my fiancé is really concerned about the oil based enamel being really strong-smelling. TIA for any insight! :)

It’s pretty stinky! It’s probably best if you can do it during a time you can leave a window open (definitely not summer time here in Houston!) We did it over several days so I could wait 24 hours between coats. The primer dries super fast and if you do one coat in the morning, you can do the next before bed. Then do the enamel the next day. 🤩

Did you sand the vanity at all?

Hi Amber, we recently watched your video about making over bathroom cabinet and countertop. We are in the middle of doing that and have a question that you can perhaps answer. We are painting the countertop white, similar to you. I just read through the instructions on the resin, and it recommends to NOT USE it over surfaces painted white, since they can be prone to discoloration over time. This worries us that we will be locked into a discolored counter. Was this a concern of yours? Have you experienced any discoloration? Do you have any advice about this as a concern? We really appreciate any feedback you can provide about this! Thanks, Ryan

Ah yes, which resin are you using? I’ve had this happen on things I made that were exposed up sunlight. We haven’t had issues with the countertop BUT if yours is near a window I recommend using an epoxy that is UV resistant. I haven’t tried this one yet but plan to soon. My friend used it on an outdoor project and it worked great! rstyle.me/+i89ZG6XLbDnD9e8R2F9DVw

I snapped this picture today. It’s been 7 months and we do have a window to the left of the counter but there isn’t direct sunlight on the countertop. We also put up $10 “frosted glass” privacy film. I didn’t notice until you asked but I think it may have yellowed a bit? I still love the look. Thank you for the great question! amber-oliver.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/B19B06C5-4D11-409D-BE70-68BECBBA9413.jpeg

@@a_m_b_o we are using the epoxy linked in the video. Only 1 small window in this bathroom, so I don’t think we have much to worry about. Thanks for the input!

Your veins up by the faucet are way too thick and blotchy. I thought you might do that area again and was surprised that you didn't; the cabinets look nice:)
