Hi Paul Karel here I never tried a vignette but now I want to. I love doing paintings like this. Thanks for rusty roof tip of paynes gray with dabs of burnt sienna. Your dog looks like a hyena.Do you know they are not related to dogs. Btw my mother was a poet . I know Karel male name in Europe but I'm female. Wonderful little piece of the tropics. I can almost feel the heat and smell the local fruits and jerk foods. Only been there once in 1981 with a marine biology class for a week of snorkelling and science study. Should go back for some watercolour studies like this.

I'm new to Line and Wash and after doing conventional WC for a few years...I'm really liking this style. It seems more enjoyable for some reason. I've been watching a lot of Ian Fennelly lately with his style of Urban sketching which is very free and loose that is a type of Line and Wash using ink and WC.

Paul, I have had an art journey that has not really been very fun. I learned a few years ago that I liked watercolor, but, of course, couldn’t control the medium. Now, I am getting to the point where I can control it better than I once could. I have not found what would be considered “my style.” I have been drawing for a very long time, and I like watercolor. Hmmm… I stumbled onto this video today. I had no idea that drawing and watercolor could be married. This is the first time I have had a sense that this is something I might be able to do successfully. I hope I am not wrong. I am going to try this line & wash. We’ll see if this turns out to be what I hope it does. Thank you for these videos.😊
