Hello mate. I want to paint my tank as you have here but will be adding a decal. Am I right in thinking that I follow the process you have shown here, then let it cure before sanding it, apply decal, clearcoat over the top (X2 or 3), and cure? Job done.

Exactly!! One little pointer, clearcoat the whole tank not just the decal. Good luck...

Hello Great helpful videos. On the previous plastic panels I have painted, primer, base coat and then clear, a cracking type pattern has ended up ruining my paintwork. What causes this ? Why did it not happen to the white panel you did, that you then lacquered. ? Thanks Dean

Hi Dean, the issue is probably the products that you used. I do not know exactly what type of products you did use but if you paint acrylic over enamel it will crack. If you used a genuine base coat, you need to use a 2 part clear. Acrylic single part clear will crack.

What type and brand do you use for the paint? I am worried to use the wrong ones and the job will get destroyed when spilling fuel on it. I would appreciate any advice or guidance, thanks.

The type of paint does not matter. However the clear coat which provides the protection has to be 2K for best results. Any good brand is ok to use. Wear a mask when spraying 2K. Good luck..

Beautiful job what is the RAL no of the paint you used, did you leave 15min for and in between your clear coat fella.

Hey, the paint color is (YSF-Metallic Triton Blue) Yes I left 15 mins between each and all coats.

@@howtowithkel3352 thank you for your reply mate, I'm just re building a zzr600 i think that colour would look great on the bike, is the primer a two pac or just a standard cellulose i know the paint can be a bugger for reacting.
