Great job! I do own a compressor (a noisy one...) a a spray gun. I'm considering trying out my luck painting! Meanwhile, I have made it a ritual of watching your videos whilst having a beer. Got to stay true to the cause...

Well, not really. Put it this way - I own the expensive Iwata, and not so expensive Fast Mover (premuim range) I don't see a difference in the outcome of paint job. I stick with the LVLP guns to go with the small compressor and reduce overspray. Other than that - go practice :)

I'm doing a triumph tank in the summer, want to add some gold pin stripe but I know for a fact I can't do it with a brush ha so I'll cheat and spray the tank gold first,if that doesn't go well I'll start over and spray the gold last ;)

Looks great. Why did you only do that grey 1/8th inch line on the back of the tank, from the knee pad backwards? I'd assume you'd put that line anywhere the blue and white meet ...as long as it's visible with badges and tank pads on.

Another great job man just curious about the sanding block would ya always use a block as apposed to just your fingers for rubbing on the round edges or maybe that's a daft question ?. this does not mean I am goin to have a go by any means i'd rather have a drink and watch ha : D
@MackieBass
@MackieBass 3 жыл бұрын
I like using small cork block, it helps reduce the imprefections even on the corners. Never use fingers, unless it;s a very small area. Sometimes I like using hard foam, or even scotch pad as a backup support for sand paper. Whatever works for you - works :)

spot on!, If you wouldnt mind could i ask you for some advice on respraying a side panel?, I have replacement panels, for my blackbird, but there not the right colour, there in really good shape though, no chips or scratches, just that there a dark silver, and i need them to be light silver. i was thinking of just rubbing them down with some grey scotch brite to key them, and making sure i take the shine off the top clear coat, then i am wondering if i should use a adhesive promoter instead of a plastic primer, then just spray my colour coats, let site for a few days to flash off, then light grey scotch brite blow it off, panel wipe it, then 2k clear gloss coat. any advice you could give would be great.. Thank you.
