If this video doesnt have a million views in the next month i;ll be shocked. That was the most beautiful experience i;ve had watching a painting. My beatuiful lady, you are truely UNIQUE and AMAZING. I have never seen a style like that and was shocked the whole way thru. You are EXTREMELY talented and i am so blessed to have seen that. I will tell everyone to watch this video as i want all my friends to feel what i felt watching you paint and create such beauty. THANK YOU. A New Toronto Fan.

I taught myself, but did read a lot of books. KZbin wasn't around when I was learning to paint, so you're lucky there! I've been painting for about 16 years, so its not an overnight process. My advice is to paint as much as you can, even if it looks bad you are getting a feel for the paint. Don't limit yourself while you are learning to beginner stuff. You will learn faster by doing more advanced work, even if it looks terrible to start off :D Good luck!!

Time lapse is the only thing I could go without. A normal speed video would help us noobies be able to study the way your hand moves. Other than that, you're simply amazing.

@Lachri Fine Art, this piece is completely beautiful. I love the composition, the surreal aspects & the way the colors compliment one another. I am a disabled artist. All of your activity on KZbin, your tutorials, Vlogs, live streams, critiques; you have single-handedly inspired me & given me the strength to keep up the good fight, to keep painting and drawing. Best, Artist; Barbra Loveless

I used a mop brush, typically used in watercolor. I don't ever apply the paint with it, only soften/blend out the brush marks from wet paint applied by other paint brushes. It is always used dry :)

Thank you! I work in oils, but not on this piece. For this painting I only used acrylic and airbrushing. To thin my acrylics I only use water. I use an airbrush to mist water over the canvas keeping it wet as long as I need for blending. I HATE the slow drying mediums, they mess with the consistency of the paint in a not happy way :)

It's not a big deal because it wasn't a commission. I ALWAYS take deposits for those :D I'm not sure how long I spent on this one, If I had to guess I would say a week. I generally have several pieces going at the same time so its hard to track. I generally sketch my ideas out then design them in photoshop. This saves a lot of headache in the painting process :D

This is just absolutely breath taking! I wish I was that good, I'm only 15 and I've never actually painted anything before haha. I was looking around on KZbin of landscapes to draw and all the videos I've seen (Especially this one) seem so impossible to do! So realistic it's gorgeous! This is a stupid question but you've probably took classes and read books and practiced for years to get that good right? Any advice? I'd greatly appreciate it! :)

Awe, that's a shame. You should try it! I find it informs a lot of the way I use oil and acrylic. It will make you love acrylic even more. You can also paint with watercolors in many many thin layers. The ability to build up watercolors to the depth and 'opacity' of an oil is really an art in itself and seriously will help your other areas of expertise. You should look at some scientific illustrations for watercolor inspiration since you are so good at animal paintings. Thanks for the video!

Your work really is amazing! You have very beautiful paintings! I love the imagination and creativity in all of them especially in this one! I love watching all your videos; but, I need some of your artistic help. Where did you get your air brush? Do you think they would have one of those at a Wal-Mart or Hobby Lobby. From watching how you use your air brush to paint in your mist. I usally just paint mine with a paint brush; but, the way you do yours it looks a hundred times better! :) :) :) :)

That was insane! Do you ever do oils? And which do you prefer (acrylic vs oil) and why?
@Lachri
@Lachri 10 жыл бұрын
Slap Stick I do use oils. I actually prefer using the two together. I like to do an acrylic underpainting to save time, getting lots of layers quickly and having the ability to use the airbrush for certain things. I like going over that in oil to create softer looks in some areas and richer colors in others :) Here is an example of one that is oil over acrylic Speed Painting Giraffe,Butterflies and clouds in oil over acrylic - Time Lapse Demo by Lachri
