The Vincent episode is one of the best Dr Who episodes ever. I cry every time. It's so beautiful and realistic (oddly enough for a show about a two-hearted time-traveling shapeshifting alien in a dimension-distorting sentient spaceship) in that he still ends the same way he always did, but at least he got to have those tears of joy when he sees himself and hears the curator speak of his work in reverent tones. He was not mentally ill because he was sad, he was sad because he was mentally ill, and there is no external happiness that could take that away, but it's no less beautiful a thought that he got to know how much he mattered to the whole world forevermore.

Exactly! This is the only episode I watched of this series and I cried my eyes out because - if only he knew how brilliant he was! I think he was way ahead of his time. When impressionism was still at its peak, he almost painted expressionistic or lets say post-impressionistic. The time was not ready yet for vincent. And I think Paul here captured his legacy beautifully ❤ thanks for this great video!

This «Vincent» video was really moving - I love his art and I think your watercolour captured what I love about his paintings which are all so alive to me. @@ArtbyPaulClark Thank you Paul. Yesterday ( at the time I left the first comment) that is when I browsed from the end of your tutorial video ( I usually watched from the end from a habit) . You can tell my excitement when I first see those wonderful paintings you have posted. Today I reviewed back to the beginning and through the tutorial and found something sparkling, most appealing. That song lyrics in the “Loving Vincent” when you mentioned in your video I would like to say that I have the exact same feeling when I first watched the movie ( chill on the spine) , extremely sadness, extreming inspiring and intriguing and wondering was the feeling when I first saw the movie ( I watched 5 times since). That about how ‘you sketched the trees and danfodil, in colour on snow and in the land,”’with the eyes of darkness of my soul”, “now I understand what you try to say to me, Vincent, how you suffered for your sanity, how you try to set them free”’they would not listen, they don’t know how” about “this world is not meant for someone as beautiful as you”. Yes today ( as you mentioned in the video): we wanted to let Vincent know what a great artist he was yet he could not know, he could not hear. Thank you Paul for once again bringing Vincent to us and interprete so well.
