You basically have the only video showing flake paint on a engine. Your title, if changed, would get 1,000’s of views more than what your getting. Anyhow, I’m building a 350 for my Chevelle and want to paint the block and heads flake green or flake pink using colored flake and real spray guns. Would love to see a video on that. And for the title if you put “how to paint a engine block” it would probably get lots more views. You have good content!

Im new to painting and stuff but why do you have to spray the sliver before the paint? I’m trynna paint my lowrider bike and ima sand it down so do I still need to use silver first?

Hello, the reason we sprayed silver on this particular job was because it was a candy paint job. When spray candies you need silver or sparkly base underneath the candy to give it a sparkle effect.

Would not recommend doing this sadly. Beautiful color but mine is just peeling and I spent about 130 for everything primer color, base coat and clear and it’s just peeling left and right. Chips right off took me 2 days to paint it and I took my time

Oh no!. That sucks. Are engines all are done like this. This engine is in our daily driver. If you don't properly clean the engine your paint will fail. Prep is everything.

Yeah prep is everything. I spent about 20 hours prepping and painting my block. Wire wheel, dremel work, washed twice with dawn dish soap and a brush, degreased with wax and grease remover, metal prep etching by Por 15, primer x3 coats and finally base coat x3.
