INSANE Custom Paint Job, Candy Over Flakes!!

This is a quick look at each stage involved in doing the most insane Custom Paint Job I've ever done, Candy Over Metal Flake, we spray black first, then 3 coats of metal flake, then 4 coats of candy, 2 coats of normal clear, then a thorough bake, then sand it back again for a final flow coat (more clear).

looks good, those types of jobs can be real easy or really time consuming. noticed you candied twice and had to reclear the tops . coarse flake can be a pain to work with sometimes . what ive found works well for the products / prep work is to flake then clear. cure clear, then sand down and candy then clear . that way if by chance you sand the top off the flake through the candy it won’t stand out once it has been cleared. its those helpful tips no one tells you . doing it that way saves having to candy twice and clearing more than you need too . turned out great despite a few hiccups but thats how we learn . nice job once again

Anybody who has watched other"candy" videos. Go back and watch this again! Absolutely the most proper way. Hang all panels,spray together, and FOR GOD SAKE, WALK THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF VEHICLE!!!! Nice job. Here's a tip that may make life a lot easier. When doing the Hood and roof. Start from the middle and work your way out. Less time for the hose to be over fresh paint!

The final sanding back made a huge difference as it levelled out the surface so when the final clear coats were sprayed it looked spectacular. Doubt many people could afford this.

Pretty sick man I remember we did a 38 Chevy buisness coupe had no fender had to get fiberglass rep ones fit better than most of the import stuff today lol . candy brandy whine is what my dad's painted it did primer sand sealer sand . Then he hit it with gold baecoat then 12 coats of color and 13 if I rember it was like 86 or so but when he brought that out of the booth wow then he said wait a couple weeks the get to wet sanding lol god I hated wet sanding especially in winter we lived in Colorado then .
