In this tutorial I show you how to paint Black Templars so you can get them ready to play Warhammer 40,000

Great video as always. Perfect for my cute little crusaders. Btw, there’s this stuff called…Tamia? Temia? Idk but it’s called panel liner, and it’s basically ink that quickly and efficiently coats into recesses, giving you a recess shade in a literal fraction of the time. Great for the style of shading you do.

I have some of the Tamiya liner. It’s great for other kind of scale modelling. Like gundams and cars etc. Be aware though that it’s enamel based, not acrylic. Generally you would put a varnish down first before using it. You can only clean it and neaten it up with solvent thinners which will attack the acrylic paint.

It really is just practice. I’ve done a lot of highlighting in the past few years. Also you can use magnifiers or a pot of reading glasses to help see better

My tutorial is kind of a best scenario for how to paint Templars. Don't feel you need to do everything the same as me. My advice would be to get some of the spare bits in the kit and practice some of what I've shown you before painting the actual miniatures. get your head around some of the tecniques and it's good practice, especially for highlighting. Good luck and rember to just take your time with it

I think I’m going to use it to paint my own, the only difference, I’m going to do, is use army painter Matt Black, it’s got great coverage and I can just get to work on all the details, and layering right after I prime them.

If your looking to paint your own chapter. All you need to really do is change the colours. All the steps and techniques still apply 😁 that idea for a chapter is great 👍🏻

3 highlights is a lot but it’s good to show people what you can achieve. For most people painting an army I would suggest maybe just one stage and maybe go the extra mile for characters
