i absolutely love these heresy vids, im giddy to see how you paint up the new mechanicum and legions imperialis stuff coming!! i really enjoy the longer videos like vehicles, dreadnoughts and stuff. its cool to see how different techniques work on smaller vs larger models, very interesting.

This is a very interesting take on Blackshields. I normally see them with a black/grimy blue sort of color, but this is something special. Well done Henry!

4:45 Duraluminium, aka my favorite mid tone metallic in the range! Which makes it my preferred base for any custom mix like how Henry used it here. Keep in mind it is a little blue (so not a mid tone that is actually the same as a neutral grey).

That yellow brown undertone really compliments the thunder warrior rumours too! And yes, I'm keen to see something with a bit of substance done on some Iron Hands. If you stuck with this exact scheme, the slightly desaturated mid blue weapon casings could stand out just enough and look pretty great! Otherwise I did wonder what a hybrid of this scheme and the Iron Hands HH one would look like, maybe with a few layers of purple and about as many of Ratling Grime. Might be a bit much but it's good food for thought and a great video again, cheers!

In love with these Heresy videos, but I wondered if you'd noticed the 3D print lines that a lot of these new resin character models have? I picked up the new Space Wolves Praetor a little bit ago and it seems a lot like the masters they're using to cast these are 3D printed and maybe they're not taking as much care as they should to file those lines off before they put them in for casting. Gorgeous scheme otherwise and I'm always excited to see another Heresy video.

The stage that you suggest for going up to for Iron Warriors - yeah, that would look great - might do that for Characters. But the up to scorched/black final stage - I always like black armoured chaos warriors but also the dark metallic look and that scheme you just did would look great on AoS/Old World Chaos Warriors armour IMO.

Pls do imperial heralds with the new mk3 armor marines and add alot of long purity seals like in their artwork. PlS. You have done wardhounds, black shields and meduson for me so far. Yet again you deliver a brilliant scheme and video! I've been contemplating a Blackshields army with the vets as line oath, probably led by Haar and I'm ever more tempted now. I've got a black with purple hues scheme in my head, might try to work that into something similar like this. Did you try to tint the metallics in any other direction than the burnt-iron look with your testers?

So in the highlight step why did you choose to stop where you did rather than going all the way up to a heat blued silver? How effective do you think it would be to get to the end of the metal highlight stage and then do a reverse paint chipping, by sponging or brushing on flecks of his original legion color scheme? I get that the answer is because that's what you like, but what do you think of the idea of either painting his gun casing red or reverse chipping it to show that it was once painted red, giving you an extra splash of color and tying it in with the crest on his helmet?

I think the chipped paint thing would work great and did consider it, particularly the sponging idea. I didnt go all the way to blue because i wanted that "brown" highlight, it's just how i pictured it in my head when planning it out.

Great job mate. For me the sculpted on detail on this is just too chunky to look legit so looks more cartoony, so I'm not a fan but I like the idea when done to look more realistic

I use it because it's basically metallic brown. Whilst I don't know an exact alternative I'm sure there are some. Even a mix of something like runlelord brass and warp lock bronze from gw would probably work great.

These videos make me realise how poor my airbrush control is. I can’t get anywhere close to that level of precision not matter the psi or how thin the paint is. Funnily enough though I had a tester for my Raven Guard that was Ratling Grime over a AK Reddish Grey highlight but couldn’t pull it off. Wish I’d persevered but I’m 50 models into painting a different scheme!
