Great point Aaron. Thankfully It’s not being used to play games. If there was vertical forces then maybe. But this model is pretty solid if left alone. Also the weakest part (the plastic flying base) was held in place with very strong epoxy putty instead of super glue. But in most cases I completely agree with pinning. Paper clips for the win!

@@BUNKER6 those bases and stems are pretty solid. So far (plus twenty years) they have not snapped on my battleships (including playing).

@@RoyAmkreutz I used a motherboard mounting screw, the brass ones, drilled into the bs and then attached a flathead screw onto the flying base to screw into the mounting point for my largest ships so I can take the bases off for storage.

Great job with the results. I can see why you would use "panel line" paint for this, great save. I have 3d printed a couple of fleets ( no way I can afford the prices these things are going for). and so far they are fun to paint.

Ha ha thanks. I can’t believe I messed up twice. Oh well. We got there in the end. You should stick around as I have a Ramilles star fort in my collection to paint too. Talk about expensive. My wallet weeper the day I won that auction. Glad you’re enjoying your models. I’m all for printing. I’m just too lazy to buy one. Good on you though!

If you can't get in with your cotton buds for oil clean up - don't forget you can just use your brush dampened with white spirit for detail.

For metal models, it is always best to pin all the components into place. These will help make them more secure.

Thanks for the heads up. I do pin models that have to bare any weight on the joints. But thankfully these models don’t have that problem.

For me, I've always found the main length of the super structure takes a while to get straight, maybe I've just had bad luck.

Thank Travis! I use a Manley reference Microphone, with a combination or UAD and izotope plugins for off camera dialogue. A AKG shotgun mic for intro and outro to camera dialogue. T-Racks mastering suite and a Waves L2 limiter for the overall audio. All audio is edited in Logic Pro X.

BFG is by far my favorite GW game. In addition there is NO EXCUSE not to have a painted fleet. The fleets are not that large and a respectable fleet can be fielded with simply priming and dry brushing. More work is certainly better but the fact is these models were made for fast painting. If I remember properly when rolling for leadership there was a -1 modifier for unpainted models representing the ship being rushed out of the yard. That was a rule we kept with our local shop when we ran a campaign / tournament when BFG came out.

Does the original box from 1999 include also the weapons? Or does it come separately by default ?

The original box did include the weapons load out this ship required. My box was just missing some stuff which was annoying.
