I still am fascinated with the Orks, now Orruks, but I think I’m going to pick up some Bonesplittaz and some Ironjawz. To be completely honest, I just miss painting. Either way, love the paint job man! I’ll definitely be checking out much more of your channel in the days ahead!

I know that I'm a year late but...after some experimenting, the closest paint to "Army Painter's Skeleton Bone Primer" is "Citadel Paint's Ushabti Bone" not "Zhandri Dust". Zhandri dust WILL work, but it after being washed, it comes out as a VERY dark yellow..."Ushabti Bone" when washed comes out exactly like the video.

Absolutely brilliant as always! Love the skin & armour, not to keen on those highlights on the trousers though. I suppose they'd look just fine from across the table but i'd have wet blended the highlights on the trousers and gone with a darker more blue-toned grey like Dark Reaper.
@brianleclaire58868 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same thing. That or tone it down using Eshin Grey and mechanicus as the highest highlight.
@DominicFawver8 жыл бұрын
another way would have been to hit it with nuln oil. Being a black wash it would have toned down and blended those highlights very nicely.
@PeteTheWargamer8 жыл бұрын
+Hawken Valhalla The effect I was going for was a shiny black leather hence the quite harsh highlights. But I agree, if I was painting black cloth I would probably have gone for an eshin grey or dark reaper instead (as I've used in my Kairic Acolyte tutorial)

They would be pretty similar but the yellow would possibly be a little less bright due to Zandri Dust being darker than Skeleton Bone.

Thank you for all your tutorial videos! Your yellow looks really nice, on the other hand I don't want yellow armor on mine (cause I don't like yellow in general). What scheme do you think will fit nicely your grey-bluish shoulder scheme? I was thinking about red but I fear the miniature to be too dark... Thanks :)
@PeteTheWargamer8 жыл бұрын
You need a bright colour to contrast against the dark shoulder pad so red would work really nicely. Be wary however as it can make Orks look a little 'Christmassy' if you use a more forest green colour for their skin. If you do go for red armour I would recommend following similar steps to those I used in my Word Bearers tutorial: kzbin.info/www/bejne/j2qWc6N4qpZ3q9E

@LovoAle5 жыл бұрын
uhm great tutorial but my yellow is not so vivid, I tried on skeleton bone and also zandri dust but yellow it's too "brown"
@PeteTheWargamer5 жыл бұрын
It's been a while since I made this video but if I were to do it it again I would probably use the new Iyanden Yellow Contrast paint over the new Wraithbone paint, that would probably give a more vivid result.
@kristopps37 жыл бұрын
Do you thin down your washes or apply as is?
@goblinnest23638 жыл бұрын
Great vid - but i tried using Zandri dust, and boy that does not work. it doesn't turn yellow at all... any advice? i use GW paints
@PeteTheWargamer8 жыл бұрын
You will probably need to use a stronger wash of Casandora Yellow over Zandri dust to get a Yellow effect as it is darker than Skeleton Bone. Although it won't be as bright as applying over a bone colour. Alternatively you could paint over each of the armour panels with Screaming Skull first then wash with Casandora Yellow.
@elliotjones68228 жыл бұрын

Quick question, sir. How much of the head are you painting before attaching it to the body? Just basecoats to get the colors right once you highlight or painting it completely before attaching it?
@PeteTheWargamer8 жыл бұрын
The only important things to paint before attaching it to the body are the tongue, inside of the mouth and the teeth. Once these harder to reach areas are done then you can attach the head.

How does this Yellow technique work for larger areas (such as a imperial fist tank), is it suitable? If not - what paints would you recommend for a larger surface area?
@PeteTheWargamer7 жыл бұрын
I'm yet to try it on a larger area but traditionally washes can be tricky on large flat areas. I would instead recommend a basecoat of Averland Sunset followed by a wash of the Cassandora yellow and highlighted with and Yriel Yellow then Dorn Yellow for the sharp corners.
@christianfejer718810 ай бұрын
What primer did you use and why?
@anderslundtoft23158 жыл бұрын
COuld you just spray prime it with skullwhite from GW? Or would it make a huge impact on the final results?
