@@DevsDice I didn't do the water base as dark as you did, but the rest of the colour scheme I pretty much followed. I also didn't glue the minis into the bases as in the game, I want to slam on deck like Bruce did in JAWS. Thanks again for the inspirational video. :)

Thanks for this video! My girlfriend got me this miniature because I love sharks but I'm still new to painting miniatures and don't want to mess it up. Hopefully I can use some tips from your video to really nail it.

With the shark that I'd just gotten, the connection join near the back normally doesn't need to be filled, you aren't going to see it and it's quite useful to leave it in order to keep a point where you know it slots into the water part. I'd ditched the included bases for the same size ones from Reaper's range, I loathe how thin the WizKids ones are because they tend to be a problem with matching the rest of my collection. For those, I'd used a few blues and whites that I wet stippled over the base before gluing the water effect and fin to the bases, then used high gloss polyeurethane to blend the plastic into the base followed by a bit of a drybrush of some metallic ice blue and pearl white along with some thinned deep blue before coating the water parts as well with a thin layer of the gloss. It keeps a lot of the transparency for the water while adding the coloration to it.

That sounds amazing! Can you share an image or something like that so everyone can see? Might be an excellent way to paint up them sharks. And yeah I agree from a aesthetic point of view with the thin bases!

@@DevsDice I also have to comment that you made the right choice not making the nictating membrane on the eye, you were correct that they have it and they use it when attacking prey, but when they breach typically their eyes remain open. I actually live very close to the area where the breaching great whites first became famous. And just like you I was fascinated by them as a child😅

Holy crap! That's awesome Tim! So that means that you most likely live in Australia? :D Just guessing based on what famous "white shark places" I know of. Could be the coast of Africa as well I guess since it seems like Great Whites swim around our globe! :) But you seem to know an unusual amount when it comes to shark anatomy? Do you by any chance work with sharks or something? Being a marine biologist was one of my childhood dreams :D
