Love the different green accent look - nice to see some cool variation on these droids

Thank you! A personal goal of mine for this channel is to be able to track my progress as a painter. I started painting in September of 2020 and have totally fallen in love with this hobby.

I followed Sorastro's guide when I painted mine original B1s, and I had the same problem with the contrast medium. I like your idea with the dry brushing of the guns with a metallic though, I might re-do my gun in with that technique. Good job, keep at it.
@TotallyNotAMimic3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! How did you paint your blasters? I haven't really tried using the contrast medium since then but maybe its a situation where less is more?
@SuperJeremy19823 жыл бұрын
@@TotallyNotAMimic I just gave my blasters a coat of the Black Contrast paint, then dry brushed them with a tan. They look okay, but I think the metallic might give them an extra layer of interest.
@TotallyNotAMimic3 жыл бұрын
Just a very light dry brush is enough to give a good effect. I like doing it this way because it gives the impression that the black is chipping away to reveal the metallic parts underneath.

Great first vid, very professional. If I can make one suggestion, add a second coat of black around the base. Some are a little patchy and is a shame to let that spoil well painted miniatures

Yeah the grey Vallejo primer is very light, reminds me of Citadel Grey Seer.

I'm loving the Grey Surface Primer for painting up Clones and Storm Troopers, it makes the process so quick and easy as well as gives a nice clean finish.

You are amazing but i feel like im slacking... you said you have only been painting for a few months. You show amazing high quality painted droids. I have been painting for about 7 months and mine look bad. Ill try these when i get the phase 2 clones. All i have now are american and germans from warlord games bolt action wargame.
@TotallyNotAMimic Жыл бұрын
So sorry for the late reply! You are not slacking! Everyone progresses at their own pace. I did a ton of research and practice before putting these models on camera. You should have seen the first model I painted, man it was rough! How has your painting progressed?
@porgstew3657 Жыл бұрын
@@TotallyNotAMimic Dont be sorry. I would say im quite a bit better. I painted 40 germans in a few hours and that was not good but I realized I needed to slow down and do one squad at a time.

I notice my issue with the contrast paint is it seems to dry super fast
@TotallyNotAMimic3 жыл бұрын
Yeah it can dry quite quick. Can be a good/bad thing depending on what you're doing.
