Thank you Joni. I have been finding that the filbert brush gives me the best trees. The fan brush gives me nightmares. Burnt Sienna is a beautiful color for trunks. I received a big box of Arteza paints for Christmas this past year. It has given me much in the way of practice. When those are gone, I want to try heavy body paints. Creamier. It seems like a night and day type of paint from the Arteza's, though the Arteza's have treated me well as a beginner.

Do you always paint on canvas and what paper would you recommend. Are your paints thick consistency, I have Windsor & Newton Galleria and some System 3 but I always seem to have a problem painting over colours. I leave it to dry first. Any suggestions please?

I just showed my grandaughter this video as she is 8 & LOVES to paint...she tried a few times & was so thrilled w herself of how easy it was to make a tree. She told me you are her favorite YT artist now( but she still likes the "pink haired lady"...who was the very 1st artist I showed her when she was 6!) I used to have a massive weeping willow tree on the side of my house that sat on a canal...and that tree just absorbed the water...it was a magnificent tree

@@joniyoungart I would love to see an ocean waves tutorial. RE: Mountains, I have found that using a silicon spatula works very well, especially on rough surface mediums, such as slate. I find it provides more control than some palet knives.

I think the name of the African trees that you are referring to (on your last 3-trunk painted trees) are called Acacia trees. I had to google it to research it and it looks like the same one you just painted. Great work detail on your trees. 😄👌🌳🌴🌲
