This series is gold!! So insightful, whilst still very entertaining.

My notes on TJ's coaching: - Slack's wrestling stance left his lead leg exposed - Connection to a guard or handfighing position is only as valuable as the position you enter (if you enter bottom knee shield, that's not as valuable as if you enter k-guard or rdlr) - Keeping your legs pinched together in guard makes it easier to hold onto whatever guard you have, but easier for the passer to get outside of your legs once they break that connection - TJ says his favorite passing method is via tripod with an underhook + headblock from headquarters - If you go for knee cut after getting the underhook + headblock, make sure that after you raise your hips to clear the body, you immediately lower your hips back down so their is no space for their knee shield to fit in - That underhook knee cut position is a good place to cook your opponent for a bit, rather than slide through to side control, which risks them gaining space. You can upgrade to double unders and/or double butterfly hooks here, and proceed to an even better position such as butterfly mount - Pj feels relatively safe while in an outside heel hook, even if his knee is not technically clear of the knee line, as long as there is no secure clamp above the knee

Great tips! 13:12 So modest to say his technique is not up to date. Great headquarters game.

I'll be sad to see PJ go against his 10p peers in AIGA. He's a well rounded grappler, far from the norm in bjj.
