how this question was worded didn't sit well with me. Because if I've been troubleshooting for over an hour with a user, this implies the questions have all been asked, but then has the realization that it was resolved the week prior, which should logically flow into checking the logs/tickets completed on this user and see if the answers are there. It then confuses you by asking what he should have done BEFORE troubleshooting - the first step being 'information gathering' i.e asking questions etc. so, it's basically a weird way of asking ''what's the first step in troubleshooting'' :D

Ahh! So it's a trick question - sort of. You're inclined to say "Check logs", because the question mentions he thinks a coworker solved the same issue lask week. But, I believe you're right: the question is asking what he should have done BEFORE he started troubleshooting. @@glenndonnelly511
