Great tips! The candidate who is trying to remember the age is a great example. I often remind students that they don’t need to be precise... the examiner doesn’t know (or care) if it was 6 or 7 years old. I’d say we could even lie if needed to avoid a difficult word that we can’t pronounce easily (thirteen for example). But we need to be consist of course in our answers 😃

Thanks Matt! Yes, lying (or inventing) is definitely an option. The examiners don't know and don't care if you're telling the truth, they're just interested in the grammar, vocabulary etc.

Hello Mst Ben Cambridge English exam it is IELTS exam ?
@arturdankovsky82933 жыл бұрын
By the way, I have been wondering if the Examiner stops me if I start 'telling a story'? I ask because, fortunately or unfortunately, I have this tendency to develop my reply and I find myself without any end... So is it like that or they just don't care and my time runs?
@tothepointenglishwithben.3 жыл бұрын
You must only answer the questions asked and the examiner will interrupt you if and when necessary.

"...put the world to right..." 5:07 What the meaning? Please anyone rephrase the sentence.
@tothepointenglishwithben.3 жыл бұрын
'To put the world to rights' is an expression which means to have a conversation about how to solve the world's problems. It's often used sarcastically or ironically to refer to any mundane conversation.
