Well said Daniel . A price is a price within reason. . Nice job. Most customers are more than grateful when you go above and beyond to keep the job moving . I’d have done exactly the same myself 👍👍👍

Many thanks mate. Yes it's good to always try and go beyond as these customers have booked me in again

@@danielnugentpainteranddeco557 yeah . They appreciate the little extra bits …. A extra 20 quid in materials is neither here or there and you’ve got the float and hawk for the next job!!!. I’ve lost count this year the amount of ‘new’ customers that have booked me for next year before I’ve even finished there job!!. So much so that I’ve 2 weeks left to fill in next years diary and then I’m into 2024😱😱

@@danielnugentpainteranddeco557 yep. Massive shortage of proper tradesmen . It’s amazing how many adverts there are out there for painting and decorating … but don’t do wallpaper 🤣🤣a strange college they went to🤔🤔🤔

Two pronged approach - you could coat the external brickwork behind that pipe with silicone sealant.

Love your videos ,learned a lot since I've been following you. Helping some friends out decorating there house all the walls had woodchip on them which they have stripped of themselves. They do not want to paper the walls so it will need a very thin skim of easy fill to fill in the little dents and ding on the plaster. My question is would you sand put zinsse guards on and then fill the walls or sand fill the wall and then put on zinsse guards ,don't want to risk there is any old paste left on the walls
@danielnugentpainteranddeco5572 жыл бұрын
I would probably put Optiva Plaster Primer on first then let it dry fully then sand down with a Mirka and repeat filling then priming. Wickes do a plaster primer aswell
@colinwilliams7202 жыл бұрын
Thanks for replying much appreciated. Not easy to get optima primer where I live and we don't have a wicks near by so limited in what I can use.we have dulux ,crown and johnstones where I live . The joys of living in a small town"

i mate i been followinh you forba while i need some advice i got a job soon on landing and stairs the customer got oil base gloss on wood work he wants water base satin on it what is a good Adhesion primer to put over it first?
@danielnugentpainteranddeco5572 жыл бұрын
Hi mate. I use Haftprimer by Caparol which is waterbased and interior or exterior etch primer. Fantasic coverage. Or Otex by Tikkurila which is a fast drying solvent designed to put waterbased products over it. Zinsser do Coverstain or if you want a waterbased primer then Zinsser 1.2.3

Why line the wall if its nice and smooth?
@danielnugentpainteranddeco557 Жыл бұрын
Because the rest of the room was lined so I did it to match the other walls to get the same finish

Why do some people say to use sand and cement on red brick and not plaster.

I know mate. This undercoat plaster was easy to use and didn't shrink and also dried so I could skim 2 coats of Easyfill 20 in a day
@TheRosemaryhudson Жыл бұрын
That old plaster you pulled off is not horrible! Its lovely old breathable plaster made from natural local biodegradable materials. The gypsum multi finish and bonding coat stuff is horrible really as it gives off sulphur if its dumped on landfill. Shame lime plastering is a lost art.
