No other channel has helped me more than yours sir! Still lots to work on but you’ve given me the few things I need that make sense! Sometimes I hit best when I feel my trail hand lift the club into position then “skip the rock” with it. I do this with all my clubs but I don’t know if that’s bad/good. Thoughts or videos on that?? Let’s get this man 500k followers! Also, come to NC please!

I always interpreted the hinge as a pushing down on the butt of the club with the lead hand, this is the best explaination i've seen that probably explains why i've always found it painful after a session at the range.

This is so well done. I have had a problem flipping my wrists at the top for years. I have gone to numerous teaching pros, all said to stop that, but not a one had instructions in fixing it. My problem at the top, started at the bottom. I followed your lesson today, and voila, I was a kid again. Hitting it solid, straight, and it took care of all of my balance and finish issues. One of my pros happened by and said, looks like you finally got it. I did but not from him. I sent him your drill. I think with this now, I can really hone in on your other lessons. I had a pretty swing before, but now it’s beautiful. Thank you so much!!!

This is brilliant. I have played golf in almost 20 years, and all time struggled to set my wrist. It is simply not natural for me. But now I understand this little 45 degree move actually does everything, while I am for years tried to set them so much. Could you also make similar with driver -as guess it is more flatter swing

Can you do a video explaining the golf swing as an athletic movement that is never static, but always in motion. If you watch Rory since he began working with Pete Cowan, he now has an almost imperceptible trigger move that starts his swing, very similar to Henrik Stenson's but less pronounced. I have no consistency starting my swing from a static position.
@rikkelsen
@rikkelsen 2 жыл бұрын
can you try do that same on the driver - isnt that a more flat backswing theh with an iron ?
@mg9955

Is rhis this technique same for the driver and wedges? And how is this going to affect the the distance that the clubhead travels for more power and distance cause i thought one goal is to always maximize the width so that the ckubhead travels farther?
@PorzakGolf
@PorzakGolf Жыл бұрын
A driver will defintley be wider! A lot of the change comes from setup. There will be less severe hinge than a short club and the driver will defitnely travel on a shallower plane.

I totally identifying with your statement, "the club's just basically lost around their body." I have little sense of the club head, let alone the face. And the outcome reflects that. I am confused about how you get a 90 degree angle between arm and shaft so early in the back swing without some degree of manipulation of the hands. Just turning my body doesn't create that angle...I have to be more active with my hands
@PorzakGolf
@PorzakGolf 2 жыл бұрын
Hey Blue! Going back to the wrist hinge and turn drill explained in the video, we want a 50% turn and hinge at the 45 degree stick. When it comes to arriving to the set position, we like to emphasize the heel pad pressing down on the end of the grip versus our wrist/hands moving to the set position. This creates less play with the hands which will lead to swing that requires more timing.

@@PorzakGolf I've seen this push down on the grip concept from a couple of other reputable sources over the years. Joe Daunte's Four Magic Moves to Winning Golf (he advocated pressing downward using the right hand on top of the thumb). Rory Mcilroy mentioned this pushing down move as his takeaway key, and said he used to push the left hand straight away from the target, but liked the position this produced better. Pete Cowen, and his instructors are other advocates of this move as well. I've seen a few others, but can't recall who they were off the top of my head. We now know you advocate the downward pressure on the grip as the source and direction of the wrist hinge. What do you advocate as the source and direction of body movement that you say goes in sync with it? Pulling some part of the right side straight back behind oneself (which would keep the spine and head from having excess change)?

You can create leverage with left heel pad which is located on the pinky side of your palm. When you take grip on your club with just your lead hand, try to feel most the weight in the area.
