Why did the Coolant appear to be black? I have heard the Volvo Coolant has a media added to it that appears like a black layer on top of the coolant...is this your experience?

I’ve never seen it turn black personally. I think it’s just the lighting mixed with black housing it’s in. But was definitely yellow to the eye in person

What about gear oil check on pods?

it depends, some of the older models will have a dipstick to pull but the newer Volvos actually dont have a stick to pull and only a sensor there Instead which will throw a code on the Volvo screen if it detects an issue. I know stinks to rely on a sensor
