you are awesome. I need to look into why it shows both ABS and ESP errors on my 2007 407sw, after the brake hose got damaged and needed to get replaced (I bet it's the first time you hear about something like this). After replacing this hose, I get these errors and need to do the diagnostics, but could be oil from the brake hose (it was all over the place) and just needs some cleaning, or perhaps they damaged the sensor cable during brake hose replacement.
@PiggyPower7 ай бұрын
ABS/ESP are directly linked. I'd bet the plug or cable has been damaged when making the repair. Doesn't sound like a coincidence.

great and clear video , just one question after you change the sonsor did the car need to be scan that ABS fault go or no
@PiggyPower3 жыл бұрын
The fault light will usually go away once you drive a few metres if you have replaced the right sensor... However the fault will stay stored until it's cleared 👍

Hi mate nice vid btw and just subbed. I oot a 06 407 2.0hdi. Abs light comes up randomly while driving or doing anything really. Can stay off for ages then just pop up until I restart the car. Could this still be a bad sensor. How did yours fail of you can remember mate ☺️
@PiggyPower2 жыл бұрын
Hi there. This could be a sensor or a ring which is split or dirty. Worth getting it plugged in, then it will tell you which corner and type of fault usually. Even with the light off, fault codes will be stored.
@zadokjoker58472 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the video sir. I have been changing my sensor for months now and the Abs always goes off but won’t stay a week before coming back on. The last one I even changed was cut off and I don’t know how it happened. So am still using my car with the abs light on and it’s very frustrating

So it's the same one you keep changing? Need some more information to assist. Cut off? How? Are you reading the code each time?

Piggy Power Piggy Power which obd reader would suggest any cheap peugout one or something better ?
@PiggyPower5 жыл бұрын
A cheap OBD reader won't do it. You will need Peugeot Planet, A Bosch diagnostic system or something like Delphi 150e / snap on type hand held proper diagnostic device. You may have to bite the bullet and pay for a diagnostic...then fix the sensor yourself once you have the results. 👍

Nice video. I couldn't get the old sensor off from its hole yet. Already destroyed the plastic where the screw hole is....my plan is to clean the sensor from the dust and clean the wheel but will see maybe I'll need to buy new sensor. Sensor sit tight (since 2005 perhabs) : )

If it's dead it's dead. If it's intermittently faulty, sometimes it's dirt. The way to get them out when like yours is, cut the top flat and then drill and split

Hi there...what´s the correct resistance for a healthy ABS sensor on a peugeot 407?
@PiggyPower3 жыл бұрын
Can have correct resistance and still be a dead sensor. If its working, the ABS system will show it on live data. If it's not. Check wiring. Then replace sensor.
@bjornnylander87543 жыл бұрын
@@PiggyPower Hi and thank you for a quick answer. Just to be sure, i get 686 and 460 Ohm on the rear, and 686 and 403 Ohm at front. Are these ok figures? I can see nothing at the live data at all and the ABS and ESP light turns on just after a few seconds of idling.
@PiggyPower3 жыл бұрын
@@bjornnylander8754 so with live data, when you spin a wheel, it doesn't show as spinning? Resistance will change as the wheel spins... So this is why I don't trust such a test. What error codes does the ABS/ESP system give out?
@bjornnylander87543 жыл бұрын
@@PiggyPower "speed sensor fault" but the speed sensor is ok as the speedometer works just fine. I havent been testing with wheels spinning yet as i get this error right after i start the car.

@@bjornnylander8754 thats just a generic error code. Each wheel has a speed sensor. That's how abs works/senses what's happening. You need a better diagnostics to pin point which corner (it will tell you) or test live data

@PiggyPower2 жыл бұрын
I'm unsure if front and rear are the same, without checking part numbers. Odd that you had to drill it out, those later type don't usually have the issue of getting stuck in like the early types. Was the abs ring cracked? Is there too much distance between sensor and ring? What is the code?
@kevinweastwood2 жыл бұрын
@@PiggyPower don't have a code, a local garage put on diagnostic, I fitted with a rear and light went off until I floored it down the road, I may have damaged the ring with drill but I can't see any ring through the hole, I've now ordered a new ring and front abs sensor, no idea how to fit the ring? I may have to take to a garage, just wondering if you have a video for ring change?
@PiggyPower2 жыл бұрын
Need to get diagnostics on it and do some live tests. If the ring isn't damaged or split, be a bit odd if it was the ring. You would need to take shaft out of the hub. Then break it off. Clean the joint perfectly. Then warm the new ring up and press or tap it evenly into place.
