Phonk being the dark version of Vaporwave actually makes too much sense
@nightlessexplosive36413 жыл бұрын
it makes sense since the genre's pioneers (spaceghostpurrp and dj smokey) were inspired by dj screw, wich is a major influence for both phonk and vaporwave, they were also born in the same time period and would often overlap between each others when it came to sounds, guess were modern vaportrap came from ? yep, it's a fusion of cloud rap, phonk and vaporwave

Pro Tip for an even more Drift Phonk Aesthetic is to Throw you favorite Tape Saturation ( i like to use Waves J37 ) on the master while having the 808 not ass loud and then messing with the settings so that the 808 and the kick blur together just a smidge. Also sidechaining is really helpfull as well. The idea is to get it to sound very low budget as if it were a Memphis Rap Cassette. Hope this helps the people trying to get into producing the genre.
@idk-g5o4q3 жыл бұрын
sidechain what? the kick to the 808?
