I agree with the sound selection being very very important ! For months of listening to music & trying too hard to make something sound I good I learned "Why do these professional songs sound so good ?" Even though they were using basic rhythms , if the sounds are good that can take those rhythms to another level but if the sound selection is bad then the rhythms will sound bad & won't feel as great

My favorite is the beginner's. I think his beat fits the track best. It's catchy, groovy and creative, while leaving space for the instruments. And that transition in the end was really unexpected and interesting. Even from a mixing standpoint I prefer it to the intermediate one, since it's not overhyped. I also like his choice of putting the "vocals" in the background. This adds to the melancholic mood and really lets the beat shine through. The only thing I dislike is the bass(line). I think what counts here is experience in making and creating music, not just in producing it.

what i took from this video Beginner: Has great ideas, but its very difficult to layout those ideas, the moment we put those ideas in it doesn't usually sound like how we want it to be Intermediate: The ideas we get can be incorporated into the "vibe" of the song, we can basically make what we want it to sound like Expert: we have full confidence on turning the beat into something magical, the ideas we get can be turned into whatever we want, since we have the confidence we aren't afraid to experiment around the track

IMO: beginner: simplicity, not many skills or ideas, so he has to work with what it has and use it the best possible way. (kid created a possible banger). intermediate: too many skills or ideas, but cant capitalize on them because its not an expert yet. (it felt generic to me). expert: has the skills, the ideas, and the creativity to create at will. (this one created the track for an all time underrated gem)

Exactly! Finally someone thought the same. Hip Hop tracks are mostly the same, of course, it's purpose is to carry the vocals, that's all. And Hip Hop producers be making gosh darn moneys from their generic overpriced sample packs, it's quite pathetic to see most producers only stayed in their comfort zone making cheesy music genre's. Anyways, i love your opinion.
@FIFTYVINC2 жыл бұрын
@@BVK. it depends on what you’re focusing on.. I’m an Hip Hip / Rap producer too. I don’t use sample packs a lot, expect someone’s definitely wants it explicitly. I’m also focusing on epic and cinematic orchestral sounds combined with modern Hip Hop beats. I think that’s very different from the typical production of this genre because you’re not only have the standard routine with the „beats“ but also more compositions and scorings. Each of its genres has something very unique and I think it’s not fair to say Hip Hop producers has the easiest job. Of course there are a lot of, let’s say „trashy“ producers who’re really just doing the same thing over and over again, or just using samples and loops.. but to be honest, a lot of my hip hop scores (with orchestral sounds) sound the same often too, that’s just because it’s quite hard to make those epic and cinematic things sound very different because of its mood. That’s also with a lot of typical hip hop tracks or even techno, or let’s say Reggae. Just wanted to involve myself to that conversation 😂🤟

I see difference in the confidence of freedom in creativity. Time limit makes hard barriers, but the two little guys just did not play enought with the main sample, so basically they made the same beat (btw reggaeton beats were a nice choise). The only advice I can say you guys (after around 15 years of experience in beatmaking, lvl hobby) that you should be more playful with sounds. First your beats will be really awkward but after a few tries you will learn to being not the same as the other beatmakers. I think this is the biggest skill of Simon as well. Good luck and keep up the nice work! 😊

For sure, they will learn that in time. Everything I was doing in my beat was done dozens of times in my previous beats

Hiiiii Servida I'm a 16 year old independent Rapper/afrobeats singer from Nigeria.I learned how to mix and master vocals on Fl studio from your channel, and I stopped worrying about money to pay for studio sessions so I could put out my music to the world, Thank you so much for the help.

There are a lot of great music producers in Romania. I am from Romania and the music producers here are mainly focused on vocal mixing. You can consider yourself lucky to find a Romanian producer that mainly makes beats. Either way, nice video, would love to see a video like this again!
