I am glad that you call this block “quarter square triangle”. On some other sites they call an hour glass block a quarter square triangle. I am confused.

Yes, an Hourglass is 2 half square triangles sewn together to create 4 triangles meeting in the center. But this unit in this video is a little different and I don't think it has an official name. I call it a quarter square triangle because it has both a half and quarter triangle together, plus it's still a square... might make even more sense to call it a Half Quarter Square Triangle!

I believe HST is 1 inch bigger from finished size, QST is 1 1/2 inches bigger than finished size.
