One of your best tutorials in my opinion. I can work with this. I find the press to hardstand, hard to impossible but with these progressions., I know I'll get it. My push strength is growing every day. For me, the key is to practice every day with a minimum of 10 minutes. Only throubg this am I seeing strength gains in my handstands. Thank you.

I feel like the farther u can push ur hips back in seven the easier it is to lower to straight l-sit. If u can do a lowering from hs to a straight l-sit pls make a tutorial i didn't find and on yt.

More press tutorials will be coming. Pushing the hips back does make it easier but as the feet come through the hips will eventually come back and down, they will then feel super heavy and this is where the more flexible people tend to struggle

I get my toes off quite easily but bringing myself up from there is difficult and only works sometimes in some certain places if I'm not too tired 😅 i definitely need more practice with it

Yes controlling the opening of the hips is tricky and normally knocks people out of the handstand

Think more elevation and push than protraction. Protraction focus is for when the arms 90 deg to torso

Wht do u mean by keeping shoulders off the wall coz when I'm pressing a pike press to hs my shoulders go way forward

In freestanding the hips should do most of the movement at the start of the press. Only at the bottom just before the toes touch the shoulders move forwards

Does pike press require much strength? Or is it more body awareness and coordination issue?

Depends on flexibility and limb length. Deep forward fold means you don’t need as much strength

I’d practice Tuck handstands to develop trap/shoulder strength and control. Plus work the eccentric path of the pike either freestanding or against the wall
