Great video! Groupings can be a challenge. This helped a lot! I do have a question about the number of items in a group. I know in interior decorating world it’s best that a collection that is grouped together should consist of an odd number of items. Should you practice this when you are shooting for a brand that has numerous items in their range? Say for instance a seasonal makeup range by Chanel or a skincare line for any brand.

No there isn't any law that you need to have an odd number or a specific number of objects in your product shots. But by using the basics of diagonal lines in your placement of them you get creative in trying to apply it. This is where the skill and art and lots of practice of it really comes in handy

Thank you really!! How are you maintaining the focus for all items on that close distance?
@LukeAyers

You're welcome buddy. Actually the focus isn't really maintained that well and the foreground is a bit blurry. Aperture was about f2.5 on the video camera.

Does having a flashlight which is powerful like ad200 pro is necessary or just normal speedlite is enough to get the smooth lighting ?
@LukeAyers
@LukeAyers Жыл бұрын
The smoothness of the lighting is from the softbox, not the power of the light. So yes you could use any light really
