The best video I have seen on the net. We are looking for an itinerary similar to the one you have covered in this video. Can you please provide us with a bit more information on using ferries and if you have rental car how do you pay for the tolls etc?

I have a video about the ferries: kzbin.info/www/bejne/j6uZh6iAaZx9pJY The rental company fixes the tollroad for you, you will be charged upon return. That include also the ferries.

Thanks for the video. I'll do my 1st trip to Norway next Wednesday. And leave Sunday; After I have reserved & check places to go : Odda, Atlantic Road... I found out the drive durations. So many hours in the car. I hope I can arrive at hotels before it's too late.... Wednesday maybe around 23h :-( I also wanted to go to the North, but another time. I think a minium of 10-14 days is required for a quick overview of Norway. I will also try EV . It will be an advanture

Nice to hear. As hint: When I plan I roadtrip I always try to be at the hotel around 17-18, that way you are not stressed, and in case you there are some issues you can still arrive late. Happened to me last year.

I'm planning to take a road trip from Oslo to Tromso in November. Are the main road consistently open without any snow blockage? Can we rent from Oslo and leave the rental in Tromso? Planning to take a flight back. Thanks

Some mountains pass (like Saltfjellet or Dovrefjellet) might be closed on short notice due to snow storms, but the authorities will try have open as soon as the storm is open. You can give back your car in Tromsø, but that might be f*** expensive at this time of the year. It might be cheaper to fly to Tromsø.

I need to know where the gas stations are for gas powered vehicles. I would like to travel by an old motorcycle that runs on 87 gas and has a 16 litre tank that can go for 125 km between fill ups. Particularly to Nordkapp and the northern islands. I couldn’t find a fuel station APP for Norway 🇳🇴 😢😊

I don't think there is an app, but use Google maps and look for "Bensin" or "Besin stasjon", they should show up. The lowest value for fuel in Norway in 95, so it should not be a problem. Common gas station chains are: "Circle K", "Esso", "Shell", "XY", "Uno XY". Check here: bensinkort.no/bensinstasjoner

Is this itinerary reasonable? How long would it take in rental vehicle. Can you suggest highways for best scenery> Oslo Al Hallingdal (ancestry home) Flam Geiranger Bergen (or back to Oslo)
@XploreNorwayКүн бұрын
You should do: Oslo-Geiranger-Bergen-Flåm-Ål-Oslo, that's more efficient and plan a week (to have enough time for sightseeing). You need a lot of time because of Geiranger, since it's not near the other sites you want to see. When driving from Oslo to Geiranger, drive over Valdres-Beitostølen-Lom and not Lillehammer, ten times more scenic. For the rest just use Google Maps, there aren't that many possibilities in Norway anyway.

I live in Norway, so it's more or less mandatory to have it. I got mine like 15 years ago.
