How to plan your PhD using a Gantt Chart - downloadable template!

Hi! This is my first ever video and I talk about one of my favourite planning tools: The Gantt Chart! This is an introductory video and I made this as an aid to my #GanttChart template. Here are the links to the templates:

Thanks so much, super useful! One quick question: when I try to change the Project Start Date, the year disappears from the timeline. It simply says jan yy etc. I there a way to fix that?

Yes! You need to go to the "Conditional Formatting" option for it. Select whichever cell you need to change colour of and then go to the menu. Just a caution: be careful with the options!

Hello madam, it is a very useful template. But i am finding problem , when i change the project end date, progress bar changes but the timeline doesnot change from june 23 to other dates. please help me. Thank you.

If you need to add more months to the timeline, select the last column and choose add more columns. After you've added a bunch of columns, select the last column (the one with with the formulae in it, here that June 23 column), then select the fill handle (small blue box) in the cell's bottom-right section. The cursor turns into a crosshair when positioned correctly. Drag the crosshair down to the last desired cell that will use the specified formula. In case you need lesser months, easiest way is to delete the unnecessary columns. It won't affect the other cells! Hope this helps.

Can you elaborate a little more? In case of Google Sheets, you to click "Use Template" and it will automatically let you edit it. If Excel, you will be getting a copy of the template.
