the reason your first base coat came out all splotchy was because it was to COLD, thats how DIP behaves when it's to cold, little tip, when spraying in sub like 50-60 degree fahrenheit weather (which i'm assuming was the case based on the time of day and the date of this upload) you need to keep the cans warm, a trick some people do is keep the cans soaking in a bucket of hot water when not spraying and let them soak for a while before you start spraying.

Also he shouldn't spray with the wheels on the ground. It's an aerosol can designed to be held upright.

That's key. "The way that I want it". Everybody here giving me their opinion on what I should do to it and how I should have it. Until I sat there saying what I wanted on my own car. But still giving me their opinion like I needed to be this way. Nah bruh. I wanted it this way. My car my rims.

I did this same color on my wheels. Turned out great looking. Almost a year old and still look good with no peeling or bubbles. I did one can of black for each wheel and 3 cans burnt copper between all 4

Little advice, you need to apply at least 8 coats if you ever want to remove it at some point in more or less one piece. If you like peeling it off in a million little pieces then got for less than 8 coats.

I want that color on my Meteor Gray 124 Spider's wheels...... BUT.. You're breaking Fonzie's #1 RULE for Wheels.... NEVER EVER spray your wheels lying down like that.. they need to be VERTICAL, or at the most a 45 degree angle.. Spray cans are not designed to spray downward... When you have the wheels lying down, you get a bumpy finish because the paint is sputtering.. You 'll get a much , cleaner, smoother, more powerful spray with the can upright....

Instead of index cards, you can just put tire shine or the dip release from dip your car and it peals right off the tire. Any excess can simply be wiped off with a rag
@stayfresh16706 жыл бұрын
Loving the color it's fire!!!!
@ArtilleryE6 жыл бұрын
For the black base coat the index cards are a bad idea. Make sure to not use the index card for that base coat. You need the base black to go over the upper lip which meets the tire if not when you spray the copper on, it will be silver on top of the lip. When you are finished with a full black base coat of at least 6 layers let it dry. Then if you want to add the index cards then do it and copper spray.

@buildhumbly79057 жыл бұрын
Prep is key, definitely do more coats with the black base coat because i rushed 2 wheels so they peeled :( I peeled all of them off and in terms of your 20", i would do 5 cans of copper alloy, just to be on the safer side!
