I don't remember in my playing days -- 1976-1995 -- seeing one-hop throws to first being a common tactic, especially when taken deep toward the foul line behind the bag, but this seems to be a common deliberate tactic in MLB in the last 15 or so years.

Any drills to help young kids work on the short hop? He has learned to catch the ball when thrown or batted in the air, but still struggles when it hits the ground and bounces to him. Thank you.

One thing that helped me is when the ball is hit line yourself up with the ball and start with your glove in the dirt and work your way up once the ball bounces. Also have your hand over your glove so it cant bounce out.

You state different scenarios for first and third in a "later video" but I do not see those vids. I am a 1st and 3rd baseman and would love to see these next vids. Specifically for scenario specific situations. What are we thinking and where should we be going or doing and drills to help that. Thanks in advance.
