Hi Tania. Tested the link just now and it is functioning okay. Are you getting any error messages when you click the link. Maybe try a different browser and see if it helps?

Henk Wessels Bass that's a combination of brand new strings, me playing hard ( I play upright too so lay into it) and the lav mic accentuating the top end... (I need that deliver the lesson!)

No problem I love your lessons anyway and love your bass too.

Thanks Henk! I actually am going to have a play with the set up and see what can be done. Those new strings are quite lively! All in all a bit of buzz isn't something that I mind too much :-)

@@ebassguitar I love brand new rounds. A bit of buzz is nothing.Great lesson and playing bud.

Hi James dreadful sound today so much buzz again. Someone else made a comment about this all thoughi don't agree its the action being too low. I do agree though that with the drums and guitar it gets buried in the mix. If the viewers can bear the awful sound it is basically a good lesson. Cheers James

John please can you stop commenting on the lessons. I’ve had enough of it. You’ve made your point. I’ve made a video on it. Enough is enough. If you wish to comment please make the comments positive / constructive / a fresh perspective… otherwise please do not comment.

John I’ve re listened to this track after 4 years and the bass sounds the way it does because of the lav mic and the amp in the room. The lav is picking up the top end of the cab. Hence when the cab is muted on the demo tracks the bass sounds more DI-ed. the sound has changed recently because I’m using in-ears a lot more. No amp in room. That’s what’s going on. Please no more comments sharing your opinion on the bass sound going forward. This is the end of the discussion. I trust you to be respectful.

Hey James i have read your comments and i accept what you say regarding you recording set up etc. It does highlight that you accept the fact that on this video the sound is truly awful as you have seen fit to re- examine it. I know you read the comments, and that is commendable, so you will be aware that i am by no means the only person that comments unfavourably when the sound is not good. I accept that i am probably the most vocal about it though. I listen to many different bass tutors on you tube and i am always honest when i make a comment. When you set yourself up as a tutor you should expect criticism as well as praise, how else will one become a better musician. However, i will cease commenting on your videos entirely if that is your wish.

John, the bass sound is what it is based on upon equipment / environment available and the resources available to me at the time. But I had to teach… so what can I do? It sounds absolute fine to me during the demos with the band when the lav isn’t on. The point is you feel the need to keep commenting. I don’t know quite what you get out of it. Perhaps you’ve got some kind of inferiority complex that breeds a superiors complex or you’re frustrated at your own bass career because I know you tried playing professionally briefly… who knows. But the persistent nature of the comments makes me question your character. I’ve got a thick skin and I can take the criticism no problem… I just choose to create boundaries when it becomes unnecessary. John I’m calling you out because your behaviour isn’t cool. I’ve told you can keep commenting but just make sure the comments are constructive / positive / new angles… otherwise you’re just a broken record. Ps - I went back to listen to it because I care and I like to evaluate things.
