You have to point at the target to cast the spell. Consider the way he raises his hand on the "oh" and flops it forward on the "behave!" (At least, I think that's a thing he does?) He's pointing at the target on the word "behave" so it's a perfectly valid use of the spell.

To keep in mind: glamour bard has a great 14th level ability that essentially sets your enemies to hit to their charisma save vs. your DC for a minute and gives attackers who hit you disadvantage on their saves against you next turn. Did a version for mad mage where I mixed in a warlock dip for telepathy to deal with the command/other charms language barrier. Was a very fun character.

Here I was thinking there would be Rogue levels for Swashbuckler, but Drunken Master Monk makes more thematic sense. Now that I think about it, Austin is much more about the charming and evading than the stabbing. Excellent lore jokes here. The way you justified Disguise Self stands out, but all the lore jokes are great.

Groovy build Tulok! Well-made! BUT... that being said... My third goal for this build was the " Parody of 007" so I went with Warlock levels to represent the mojo (Archfey), to get the Countercharm ability and, as parody of guns, Eldritch Blast for finger guns! Add some levels of Rogue (Swashbuckler) to get Panache and be a better fighter. After all, The Warlock levels are the only things that can counter charm spells and reflect back to the Warforged Fembot who try to charm you lol! Oh and side note, he should have other skills at level one. Investigation, Athletics and Performance to show his training, The free feat was Tavern Brawler cause he has no monk level in my build lol!

Quick help here, I'm trying to build Tirian from RWBY. He is an insane Scorpion Faunus whose Semblance (aka superpower) allows him to bypass an opponent's Aura (aka soul shield) when he attacks. He is entirely devoted to Salem, the BBEG of the story. He also doesn't wear any kind of armor, using twisting moves and strikes to keep his enemies at bay. Race: Faunus are humans with animal traits. Shifter fits this idea, with all but Longtooth matching his traits. - Beasthide, if the DM flavors it as growing a tail, gives Tirian's tail deflection ability if you take Monk instead of Barbarian. - Swiftstride gives a Disengage reaction and extended movement speed; a boost for either Monk or Barbarian builds. - Wildhunt increase Wisdom by 2 (Tasha can float this into Con for Barbarians) and Dex by 1, and prevents advantage against you if you Barbarian Reckless Attack. With his lack of armor, as well as strong kicks and finesse weaponry, a _Monk_ dip makes sense. I chose Shadow Monk for the ability to Pass without Trace. However, _Barbarian_ with Path of the Beast resist melee damage, and can grow a Tail which increases their AC on a reaction. Whichever you choose, take a fourth level minimum for the Poisoner Feat. His Aura bypass can equate extra damage on a hit, either Rogue or Paladin. _Rogue:_ Soulknife up to level 14 reflects Tirian's ability to channel his Aura and Semblance into his attacks. Meanwhile, Swashbuckler up to 8th level is free disengage after attacking, and allows more Shadow Monk skills and Ki Points. _Paladin:_ This version usually goes to Paladin 14-16. By focusing on his devotion to Salem, my initial plan for him was Oath of Glory or Vengeance (with the Oath flipped against Good). Shadow Soulknife is the ultimate sneaky assassin, while Beast Soulknife can fight off a team of young heroes. Shadow Swashbuckler can focus more on Monk for more mobility and Stunning Strike, while Beast Swashbuckler is a relentless hunter no matter which you focus. Monk Paladins are versatile, and can Smite their Fury of Blows for a one round huge burst of damage. Paladins can't cast spells as a tanky Barbarian, but Smites technically don't cast a spell.

I would go Simic Hybrid personally. Being a hybrid means having appendages that can grapple, you could have the natural armor of a carapace if you want and you don't have to worry about your character "shifting" you're always an animal person this way. Likewise if you want to dip monk, you don't also have to go Barb and only have your appendages while raging.

And that’s also why I didn’t combine the two in any of my post text “on paper” analysis. I’ll have to look into Simic Hybrid. I chose shifter because he was able to hide his Faunus traits. Okay, Darkvision was a must, and choosing Nimble Climber and reflavoring Carapace into a tail (if not Barb) should be fine.

@@LocalMaple We aren't talking about a comparison or even mechanical benefit, I'm talking about you not having to do that to get the flavor you want. Also why I specifically brought up Barb's problem of you only having the appendages when you rage. Not too worried about all that other stuff, I'm talking exclusively as a way to get the feeling of the character you want. Personally I'm a fan or either monk or Barb, but there are flavor issues with Beast Barb that always kind of annoys me. The big one I think being that transformation is connected to your rage and as a Barb the truth being that if you're playing the prescribed adventuring day, your Barb isn't going to be able to rage every fight.

My Suggestion: Variant Human (Sharpshooter Feat) Rogue (Scout) 3+ Wizard (School of Enchantment) 2+ Artificer (Armorer) 3+ ...a black suit counts as light armor, right? Stick with the infiltrator mode. Plus gadgets.
