Mark Twain once said; "Never pass up a good opportunity to shut up." When it comes to the blues, sometimes it's what you don't play that makes the solo.

Totally awesome, thank you. It was useful hearing the chord changes for context... something I missed in earlier vids of this series. Dear Dave. I wish you good health and happiness.

Definitely the best set of lessons on the PeopleTube! Finally able to get a great sound coming from my amp and getting to the high frets of my guitar to make it scream.... Thanks Dave, and keep up the good work. Now i've got to check out your other lessons.

Buddy Guy is the best I've ever seen at going from a whisper to a screaming groaning lead sound back to whispers. He is so great. Especially back in his prime. Greene learned it from Buddy Guy & all the old school Greats.

Dave you are right about Greeny's dynamics. It was so controlled yet so much emotive. In a spark he could flush it all out yet not saying really much with his phrasings. Amazing and so are you mate

Dave, would you consider doing one video where you give a short run down of your shred type riffs? I’m totally moved in a different direction musically than shredding, but I’d like to add some of that stuff to my vocabulary.
@JorgeLetria

Great video man. This is a very interesting subject. I don't use the volume as much as you, but still use it. I do a lot of switching to bridge and harder picking for harder licks and back to the neck with lighter picking for softer stuff. Depending on your rig, sometimes that's enough to make a huge contrast, with volume control to make it more pronounced. You get a lot of that with David Gilmour. What I do works better with less gain and a little brighter setup than you're using here. If I want to go harder on the gain, I go for the booster.

hi Dave these blues videos are the best you have done in my opinion i agree Peter's touch technique tones are to die for thanks for mentioning you where using the governor and jackhammer sounds like reverb and delay in there not sure if anything else what reverb and delay pedals do you use or recommend look forward to the next video take care stay safe

Good morning Dave (or afternoon, or midnight). Do you have any advices for a new players? I struggle to chance chords, cannot really learn scale and anything, i can play some SOAD songs, because they are easy - but i cannot change basic chords in Californication, i started to feel like guitar is not really for me... Could you give me some usefull links or advices? As always - good video, you are the best guitarist and super human!!!

Just a silly question, because I am new to electric guitar, when we want to change the volume while playing guitar, wouldn't we use pedal (wah-wah) to raise or lower the volume?
