No you place a dble perpendicular but when the board needs space you can put the tile parallel and in the middle of the tile before and after. The end of the dbl will touch the midline of the tile before and after.

I used to play this with my family in Michigan. We just called it "bones". Legend says the game originally was made from bones by woodsmen and played around the campfire. The draw pile was called the boneyard. We always had dominoes in little suitcases everywhere we traveled.

This is similar to how we play dominoes in south africa but we don't display the tiles so complicated like that, and we don't call it "dominoes ", we call it "doms" for short.

There’s many versions of dominos. The version I’m used to playing, players are awarded points when they lay a tile down and all end pieces add to a multiple a 5.

Watching the adults play I was able to figure out how to play. But because back in the day kids and grown ups were separated. In other words. Kids were in a room with kids and adults where in the kitchen and living room playing dominoes I didn't actually start playing until I was a teenager. This is ... not a good tutorial ... Then again, it is actually a great portrail of what is "wrong" with Domnioes. There are simply too many variations. But the most popular and most fun version is with no doubt: 'All-Fives'-Variation (To be perfectly clear: This is the one with only one Spinner). If you want to just have a quick round with friends, you can just ignore Points and it becomes a Single Round 'Draw'-Variation.

At the beginning, every1 pics & shows their domino (says it in the video), just 2 C who start the game. Then put them back in the pile, mix up, pass them out & start playing.

The skill comes from keeping count of the combination of tiles on the table and trying to guess which ones your opponent still has in his hand. Then you play tiles that can only be connected with ones that your opponent probably doesn't have, forcing them to draw from the boneyard. It's not simply a luck based game.

this is one way to play it i guess, but the fun way is by keeping score, you add up the outside numbers only, multiples of five get points, which then creates strategies etc on how to block your opponent and what not, the excess pile is called the "boneyard"
