Darn the video didn't explain about the "5+4+3+5 = 17" thingy. RDR2 dominoes got me confuse when a 5+4 = 9 score, then I put my tiles 5+4+"4+2" = instead of (9+6=15) the score will be like 7 or something else. Like (9+6= 7), it really fuckin boggles my mind.

I play in the way that you can only score in increments of 5. 5 10 15 or 25. There is also a certain way to mark(or write)these scores down. It dosent matter how the tile is placed (in wich direction) as long as it matches the corresponding tile. Most look for doubles(or spinners)to go off of because then you can add all three(or how ever many) corners.😊👍

Allow me to clear up some confusion. Yes, you win the round when you run out of dominoes. So how is it possible to get any points if you don’t have any dominoes left and therefore no pips to count towards your score? The answer is that whenever you run out of dominoes, you add up the pips on all the other players’ remaining dominoes and that’s the score you get for the round. Keep doing that until you get to 100 points or more (depending on what score you want to finish at)

Nice and easy instructions for a game that I saw many Cubanos play in Florida all the time. Now I think I could play along with them and stand my own ground...with a delicious Cuban Sandwich to munch on during the game! MORE CUBAN SANDWICHES PLEASE...and a cerveza or 6! I'm in an apt complex with nothing for adults to play, so I'm gonna start a dominoes game one day a week, and see how people in NC can learn to play and enjoy an old, but tried and true game, and see if I can start a trend. @@SwaydeKnutson how to win: the first one to run out of tiles wins The begining of the game you take 7 random tiles and your opponent takes 7 random tiles (you push the scatter of the tiles away so you can use them later) The one who has the biggest double tile (6/6 or 5/5 or 4/4 or 3/3 or 2/2 or 1/1 or 0/0) begins first If you still have tiles but you are on a dead end (for example you have 5/6 and 4/5 but both of the ends require number 3) you start to pull from the ones that are scattered If there isnt any scattered ones (or you already pulled them all ) your opponent plays and you continue the game, i hope this made it kind of clearer

I don't think you can place that double four tile in the middle of the other locked Domino's. Should be placed on an open end tile with a matching four.

No that’s actually the point of the double tiles is you can place them on any of the sides from the middle as well and not just end to end

Yeah, that's also the traditional way we play here in Catalonia. You always have only two open ends. Much more strategic. This other way, opening more endings, seems to be much more influenced by the luck.

Scoring was different in prison. You played strategically to have the ends add up in increments of 5.

Ste Bonaiuti If you play a tile with a multiple of Five on the end of the chain you get that amount in points. For example if I play a tile with a ten on the end I get Ten points. However if I play a tile with a Ten and a three, and the three is on the open end, I do not get any points. Another rule to add in is if you play a double you earn those points ( play a double six, you get twelve points)

@@Tearproproductions Agreed, but not from a prison view. All of the Italian and Spanish games I learned to play were about the 5 point rule, and it is different depedning on different groups. I learned to play from my husband, he's from Puerto Rico, our friends are Domician, Jamaican, Italian, and none of them did whatever the point system was in this crap video. And when I went to PR, I don't speak Spanish, but when I played with my brother in laws and nephews, we still used the 5 point system. This video makes ZERO sense.

What about 5's? The way we play is person who lays down a bone that adds up to any multiple of 5 gets those points. So, if there's a 4-1 domino with the 1 open and the next player lays down a 1-1 domino, they get 5 points because the 4 and the 1 equal 5. If the player laid down a 1-6 on the open 1, they'd get 10 points. Then, person that goes out first gets the remaining points in other players' hands. This video shows a very simple way to play. Not as much fun, IMHO.

@@lifelikelu this is how I was taught too. When teaching new players we start by just adding the pips left after you go out. But I’ve always rounded to 5. So if player A has 18 pips left when I go out, I score 15 on the score sheet

Nah, at the head or tail. If there's a 4 on either side then you can make "T" connection with 4s to start another head and tail of the snake.

Are you sure the double tile is played right? Everything I’ve seen says that the double tile is laid crosswise to the number of points at the end of the snake, making 3 more ends to add to. You sort of did it the other way around.

Yes can be played. Because when you run out first, your left over dominoes are added to your total score. First to 100 or 250 wins.😊

Ann Marie Only the player with the lowest amount remaining is awarded the score, so technically the rules work as explained to determine a winner. There are a few variations but house rules can definitely be applied in this game

What if you make a mistake & draw from the boneyard & played it but realized you have a tile in your hand you could have played & mentioned it before the next player played, does the game continue on your mistake? Or do you put the tile back in the boneyard & reshuffle & play the one you were supposed to play? I'm already aware you can't fix it once another player plays their turn, but what about before they play?

I didn’t read all of the comments but it was taught and therefore teach that doubles aka spinners only go on the end and therefore count all pips. Only the 1st spinner can be played off of to the right angle of the original line.

I am confused about the scoring. The video says the winner of a round is the player who plays all their tiles, or the player with the fewest dots on their tiles if no one can play any tiles. This suggests that the winner is she/he with the fewest dots. But then the video says the winner of the game is the first to 100 points, suggesting the winner is she/he with the most dots across all rounds. So, do you want dots, or no dots?

You earn the number of pips from your apponent/s. If you go out, or have the lowest number of pips, the other players count their pips, and you get that number. The video wasn't very clear on that.

I don’t get why people say this clear. It goes way to fast and the scoring doesn’t make sense. If a person wins a round they will have 0. The person who lost the round gets points. So to get points you need to lose the round because the object of the game seems to be to get points.
