Thanks for this! Could you please make a video on how to hold the sticks in a drag? I'm confused if i should use my wrists or combine with some finger control

Apologies it’s taken me a while to get back to you… been a very busy month. The short answer is both. Your wrist is going to initiate the motion, and your fingers are going to control the bounces. I'm making a video about this as well. Stay tuned!

How do you get them consistent? So not switching between wide, tight or in the middle. I’m having a hard time between wide and middle ground.

The biggest challenge in playing these consistently is learning to hear them (sounds like you are already there!). After that it’s just lots of careful repetition and patience. You’ll make small adjustments in your back fingers and wrists to control the amount of bounce, speed of the sticks, distance between each hand, etc. but I think it’s best that this is driven by your ears instead of over analyzing what’s happening in the hands. Set small goals such as “play 4 drags in a row that all sound the same”. Then work up to 8, 12, etc. Record yourself and listen back, and make this part of your daily practice. It will take a while, but slowly chip away at it and you’ll develop the consistency you are looking for.
