Making up a "sing-song" to go along with the strumming is so... cute?/smart! [Kudos at you Michelle!] (I can see why YOU are a good guitar teacher!) ...I'll never be a "teacher" (not deliberately) because I'm just too "self-within"!

You make it look so enjoy your lessons & are great. I lost my index finger in an accident F chord is so impossible for me to make. Keep on with the great work!

You can still play an 'easy F' Second finger 1st fret string 1 & 2 Middle finger 2nd fret string 3 Pinkie finger 3rd fret string 4 Strum strings 4,3,2,1. That's what I play anyway, because I'm rubbish! :-))

Hello Melissa, great explanation of the strumming pattern. One thing, I remember that piece of music is in Bm (SIm) (according with the record), so I suggest to put a capo in the 2nd fret. Greetings from Queretaro, Mex.

Be careful Melissa! THIS is a song that Don Henley (and/or his publishing company) goes out of the way to RESTRICT covers of on KZbin and elsewhere! (Don Henley could/should just take all the "monetization" from the covers, but he and or his "content-managers" have decided to be asshats about fair and reasonable uses of THIS and other songs that have a "Don Henley" song-credit!) I mean, I can understand "protecting" a copyright... But, geez!

Right off the bat you started irritating me this song would be too hard for a beginner to play and I don't think you're a very good teacher

i mean i clicked on this video out of curiosity, as i know the song already, but in my opinion, i'm sure as hell that this would've made it much much easier to learn it especially if we're talking about the fact that this is a lesson for beginners, she explained it in a way that's really easy to digest, so props to her for this
