How to Play JAGO Tutorial - KI SNES/Killer Instinct Arcade

***IMPORTANT*** Okay, so it came to my attention that there were many issues in this tutorial. So a REMAKE of Jago's Tutorial will be in the 2024 pipeline. For the time being, here are a few notes you should take into consideration: 1. The Medium Punch Button in the combo at 9:30 is WRONG. For this Autodouble to work, you can use Medium Kick or High Kick instead. 2. Jago has a 5th fireball type that I never talked about. After a Combo Breaker, you can actually shoot a very strong Red Fireball that can dizzy your opponent by doing Hold High Punch, Quarter front Release High Punch. 3. The Magic Endokuken (Yellow Fireball) can stop certain moves that normally invulnerable to projectiles, apparently...I didn't test this much yet so I cannot really confirm what it can counter or not. 4. There are a few differences I didn't address at all between the Arcade version and the Snes version. 5. Some more advance Combo stuff is not present in this video because at the time of the making of this tutorial I was a lot less knowledgable that I am now. And that's pretty much it! So you can expect a new tutorial for Jago after Fulgore's Remake (done) and TJ Combo's KI2 Tutorial (In Progress) in 2024.

To me, the SNES port is the definitive version of Killer Instinct. The arcade original looks and sounds much better of course, but the gameplay is better and more fluid on SNES. This game was played a lot back then and it's still absolutely worth to play.

@@lajeandom you’re very welcome! To answer your questions it depends on the game but they are usually populated, delay has only been an issue for a couple of my matches, the lobby system is anyone can challenge anyone and you see who’s available to challenge.

Just pulled my SNES back out after watching this haha I need to get back into it. Aren't there shadow moves too? Or was that just the arcade versions?

Shadow moves are also part of the SNES version but the problem is that you can't see them! The beautiful trail effect is only available on the arcade version. In my next upcoming tutorial I go more in depth about Shadow moves :)

I think you missed something? Im not sure but iirc, you can use the Red Endokuken outside of combos too. Iirc... you must first have done a combo breaker. Then hold hard punch, do the Endokuken motion and release hard punch. It will send a very quick standalone Red Endokuken, and if it hits... it will KO your opponent and have good chance to make them dizzy. Which is dangerous as it gives Jago free hits.

And oh yeah can't forget the 15 hit Jago combo that doesn't require for you to do the Combo Breaker first! He has another Wind Kick which is the double Wind Kick! You can only do the double Wind Kick when you do the Fierce Kick one! As soon as you land the hit from the Fierce Wind Kick press forward+Fierce Kick at the same time! You will hear two hits instead of one! That's key to doing his 15 hit Killer Combo!

@@lajeandom yes it works on arcade as well! I always play Killer Instinct 1 and 2 whether it is the arcade or console versions. Arcade version does have some broken stuff with everyone on the roster including the boss character Eyedol. I got Fightcade for SNES Killer Instinct 1. On my Xbox One I got Killer Instinct 1 the Arcade version, Killer Instinct 2 which is the arcade version and through Rare Replay I got the Killer Instinct Gold which is the N64 version of Killer Instinct 2. I also play the most recent Killer Instinct as well just not as much as I used to. For the 15 hit Killer Combo with Jago it's The Weak Punch Fireball, Double Wind Kick, Medium Kick, Heavy Punch Sword, Heavy Kick, Medium Shoryuken Ender and do the red fireball by still holding Medium Punch Down Forward Release Medium Punch. Also on the SNES version you can do the standing Red Fireball about four or five times before your Combo Breaker Meter goes away as well. Also another thing that you can do with Jago is Down Uppercut, Heavy Punch Sword, Down Uppercut, Heavy Punch Sword again, Weak Kick, quickly hold Medium Punch, Down Forward Release Medium Punch; that's a tricky 9 hit manual combo that's hard to break and you can delay certain stuff by switching the timing to keep the opponent guessing. I am good at the game but not THAT good lol these guys are no joke! haha My name on fightcade the same everywhere, lajeandom. But on KI 2013 my name was JDKGR, i replayed it a few weeks ago and I don't know why...the thrill wasn't there. I was either playing against a pro that was using me as a punching bag or I was playing against a total noob and it wasn't fun at all hahaha

@@lajeandom maaaan I fight the regulars in Fightcade and trust me when I tell you I gets down and barely lose as it is. Everyone complains about my main being Cinder not realizing that there are characters who can counter Cinder. I proved it a few times before and trust me I frustrate people in Killer Instinct on Super Nintendo. It's arguably the most balanced out of the 3.

Salut, je découvre ce jeu et je te remercie pour ce tuto. J'aurais juste une question concernant la boule de feu rouge, est-ce qu'il y a plusieurs versions de Killer Instinct sur SNES ? Parce que je n'arrive pas à la sortir malgré mes multiples tentatives (je joue bien évidemment sur émulateur) Aussi, pour le combo affiché à 9:50, j'arrive à sortir les coups sauf le dernier MP. A la place ça me fait des coups normaux et un mise au sol et fait 8 hits contrairement à toi, je ne sais pas pourquoi

Bah ça c'est juste un autre exemple qui vient de confirmer que je dois faire un remake de ce tutorial. Pour le problème avec MP....c'est une erreur, c'est High Kick (ou Medium Kick marche aussi) et non Medium Punch. Pour la boule de feu, tu dois HOLD le bouton pendant que Jago est dans les airs et RELEASE le boutton une fois au sol. Dans tous les cas, merci pour le commentaire, j'ai de la difficulté à croire qu'à quasiment 10k views, ya pas personne qui a remarquer que le combo avait un mauvais bouton?? XD

@@lajeandom Les gens regardent peut être la vidéo pour le coté spectaculaire des combos xD Pour la boule, juste pour être sûr d'avoir bien compris, il faut appuyer et maintenir le bouton de poing, faire un quart de cercle et ensuite relâcher c'est bien ça? Parceque si c'est ça, soit le timing est mega serré, soit le buffer est très court

Oui, faut tu telecharge fightcade! Et ensuite tu va sur reddit et download un programme qui installe les roms et emulateurs automatiquement quand tu choisi un jeu

I like this video , but you didn’t add the Ending combos , I see the swirling sword upper But I know there’s a triple kick ender and a 3 Endouken ender

the enders are usually just one of the super moves but you do that super move at the end of the combo. 3 endokuken is a triple juggle. Just do a juggle after a combo breaker. I recommend watching more recent tutorials for clearer information, Jago's tuto need a fresh coat of paint which I will do this year

@@lajeandom sure, the snes combo system for example let's Jago use a medium plasma sword as a linker for his combos. That's on super Nintendo. On arcade Jago can ONLY use the Fierce version of Plasma sword as a linker in combos. The arcade version is very nuanced than the snes version. As a child, I wondered why my combos that worked on snes didn't work exactly on arcade. That's why. They made the inputs on the arcade very detailed for each character. That's so everyone was completely different. On the snes, they adjusted that for ease of playability. I'm not trying be a jerk. Trying to educate. I lost tournaments as a kid practicing on SNES thinking it's identical to arcade systems. It's not. Your exact systems won't work. I've literally got both here. Try a Fierce wind kick, to Fierce auto, to medium sword, to Fierce auto, to any ender.. with Jago. Works on snes, NOT on arcade. Arcade tutorials should be a completely different set of videos my friend. Hope this helps!

Lol that's like so specific. Its so specific that I never even considered that this was a thing. as far as I am concerned, all combos showcased in my videos are universal and can be done easily on both arcade and SNES versions. Therefore, I don't think I have misleaded anybody so far. Saying that my videos are very misleading is a long stretch don't you think? And I won't do a different set of videos for that, but I ama happy to showcase important differences like the Shadow moves for example like in my Glacius tutorial ^^

@@lajeandom well.. your Jago tutorial on combos doesn't work on arcade at all. What you do with that information is up to you. It's incorrect for sure. Try it yourself. I'm not going to list every single thing you got wrong with each character. Just letting you know the snes combo system is universal where the arcade is move specific per character. What you do with that Information is up to you. Personally I'd want to have integrity and correct things. For example, just remove the word "arcade" from the titles. They're very good SNES tutorials, NOT arcade though. You can be butt hurt or fix it. What you do is purely a reflection on your character.

Why is hard tho? The d pad on the Xbox one controller is not that bad. With the joystick it's a bit less precise but still very good. For my videos I play everything with a PS4 controller on the dpad.
