I went into the game ready to use Link like I have sence melee. Link's new bombs perticulary wer quite diferent from my normal battle sceme of jumping around and lobing bombs at foes from above. After realizing his single bomb is detinated not explodes on impact my new stratigy with it was throw or place it and detinate it when oponants are close. Link hasn't changed much between his gamecube and wii u versions so to give him some new stuff is actually quite interesting. I don't realy miss his old playset sence I like using Young Link in a verry simalar style.

@@TheOmegazerox Yeah, I think it's a fantastic idea to have the three Links in the game, that way people who want to change things up have some options with adult Link while people that liked the older forms of Link more or less still have them with Young Link (he's a bit weaker in exchange for being a bit faster, but overall, you still hvae the core of that style), and then there's Toon Link for people that want something completely different that way. It lets the game iterate while not so much alienating past fans, which is a great setup, imo.

Hey just an idea: During your outro just play some footage, playing against a fighting CPU, to show off a mixture of all the moves you just talked about. Even if it's just for that short 30 seconds I think it'll be cool.

"His hair is pink for unknown reasons" There's actually two theories on why. One is because of of the palette limits. In the dark world he became that pink rabbit, and that shared the same palette. So, for the pink to be there, there had to be room. Out goes blonde. The other being because on CRTs the colors blended a bit, having so much Brown on Link would be a little much, so they went with something very contrasting. A lot of SNES games did this, just to differentiate things better.

Link has been one of those characters I've been playing for awhile (I usually get him when I random for some reason so I just rolled with it and picked him up) and I'm convinced that of the three Links here he is the best one considering his power and flexibility, especially with the remote bomb (so many possibilities there). That Remote Bomb is one of those things that changes everything. Aside from the lack of a grappling hook, with so much flexibility that the other Links lack he's been my 'go-to' Link; he's the thinking man's Link being highly technical based. If you master say Young Link then imagine what you could do with regular Link. I really think he is a pretty slept on character, so many ride the Young Link train train not realizing his true potential.

The two things I had absolutely no idea about, link can use a smash attack to send out a sword slash from afar so long as he has no damage. And the fact he can pick up his arrows off the ground and either throw it or use it to fire two at once!? That's amazing and never would have figured that out.

When ultimate came out I loved playing link because I sucked and he was easy. Then as I got better I thought "man this forward smash is WEAK!" So I quit playing him. Then a couple weeks ago I finally discovered the second hit thing and my god its awesome.

I've gotten back into smash and let me tell you, taking it seriously is a lot different than just messing around with friends. This game is the most intricate game I've ever played. I enjoy the depth and challenge. Thank you for this video! You do great work.

I dont think theres really a specific way you have to play link, unlike cloud and ike who basically have a really basic game plan, link can do all sorts of playstyles and still work. Camping defensive playstyles that are slow, or fast pressure heavy playstyles that use your bomb for comboing and mix ups. Hes very flexible

Fun fact, if you catch the aerial dodge and manage to get just underneath the enemy, Link’s Aerial Up Special can juggle the enemy from side to side, hitting up to 9 times. It adds something like 13% of damage to the move.

btw you forgot hylian shield which just says no to projectiles. Only usable when sitting still and walking

He can jog with it as well. Only time it doesn't block is when projectiles go around it or you run with the shield on the side. Sometimes it's better than shielding

Link's Hylian Shield can block every projectile in the game if you are standing and not moving at all. This was a mechanic from melee and now, but before 64, it wasn't really a thing
