KDA...interesting story... I was in 5th grade and there was a local band playing at an assembly in the school...and they played this song... I had never heard it before but it blew me away...it touched something in my soul and I knew from that day forward I was gonna play the guitar...this had to be back in the late 70’s...so there’s that...rock on my brother!!!!

cool , I've been tryin to nail terry's rhythm part and tony 's part. there is a live video that shows a lot of what tony's doing but I can't quite make out what terry's playing. He's playin some bar chords up the neck but I doubt that their full chords. I had no idea they were working off green river. To me it don't sound nothin like it. lol. That song is pretty amazing how simple it is but they really put it together well.

Thanks for the great video, Kelly, always struggled with this and extracting it from the mix. 👍 But I do think Fogerty (Fogarty?) was exceptionally fortunate (son!😂🤣😂🤣😂) to get 50% of the royalties of ‘Long Cool Woman’ in an out of court settlement. It’s similarity to ‘Green River’, other than general style, is tenuous, to say the least. And I don’t recall Bobby Charles or any of the myriad of original Cajun ‘Swamp Rock’ proponents suing the arse (US = ass!) off him or Tony Joe White et al. for ‘stealing’ their general music style. 🙄 Imagine litigious Rockers from the ‘50s getting sued by ‘Swingers’ or Bluesmen… or each other! Music would never have matured, or advanced.

It's actually a Squier. Vintage modified. One of the higher end Squier telecasters. I'm not a huge fan of telecasters so dropping $2000 on an American made Fender is just not gonna happen with me. I'm happy with this one.

​@@chrissoutdoorsgardening1261 A hammer-on is when you pluck the string one note and then you bring your fretting finger down onto a new note while the string is still vibrating. A downstroke is when your pick hits the string on the top side of the string (pushing your pick towards the ground) . An upstroke is when your pick hits the bottom side of the string (pulling your pick up towards the sky). Hope that helps!
