Played for the first time at EVO this year. Got in the top 700 out of the 5,000 people. Your stuff helped me improve a lot before then so thank you sir! Edit- never went to local or any tournament before so it was amazing.

My only, and maybe picky feedback, is, maybe timestamps? Just so when when we return after a whole watch we can quickly get to the section we want to revisit. Also know that can be a lot of work after producing and uploading so not a dig or nothing, fully understand the amount of effort that goes in just to get the content out 👍 thank you again.

Marisa is hard to play in neutral at higher levels. She doesn’t have a ton of the tools that other characters take for granted.

Totally on point. Strider has a video with a similar concept and although I don't usually watch his content I did watch that one and it was helpful. You do a much better job explaining this though. Only thing is I notice you didn't mention Sparta kick at all. I've found LK Sparta kick very effective against people who walk back and forth fishing for gladius whiff punishes because it often catches them walking forward, which gives me the knockdown, and has more of a suprise factor at times than Superman punch. The pushback on block makes it safe too at the right ranges.
@ZachHenke3 ай бұрын
I think it’s useful at times and especially in certain matchups. But the minus frames and weakness to DI make me reluctant to use it too much.
@LucianRudeboy3 ай бұрын
@@ZachHenke yup but it's 5 frames faster. Not my go to for sure but I've found it to be very useful in the neutral in the right moments to apply some surprise factor. The Sim matchup is by far the one I use it the most in

@@ZachHenkeyou just need to provide content that is valuable to your audience and a hook that intrigues them enough to click. And then you need to deliver on the promise of the thumbnail and title (the hook) within the first 30s of the video

Thanks for another great video! I was wondering, is there a way we can watch you play matches? Like another channel where you upload your games or something like that?
@ZachHenke3 ай бұрын
Not really. There’s two factors to this. The first being that I really don’t play the game a ton right now when I’m not making content. There are other hobbies and activities that I’m really getting into, so I’m not playing a bunch of SF. The other thing is that I’m a much better teacher than player, and I get very salty (like DSP levels of salt), so doing stuff with live commentary while I’m playing isn’t something I’m super interested in. I do have one video on my channel where I look at my own gameplay. And my first livestream ever was me analyzing matches of my own, but I screwed up and didn’t have audio for the first 45 minutes. Here is the video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/a4GXq5uFnNGhhMksi=lH4F8JRzNIakePin
@sailor-doom3 ай бұрын
@@ZachHenke Fair enough! I'll watch that video then, I like to see the theory put to practice. I also struggle with getting salty, even if I'm getting better at dealing with it, so I understand completely. See you on the next video!

How can you beat Ryu low kick with marisa?
@ZachHenke3 ай бұрын
Everything here except stand HK should be just as effective. The hitbox on his crouch MK is really good, so stand HK tends to not go over it.

What about dirty little akumas who walk back so fast then look for the side swap? Just walk forward and block then see what they start pushing? I dont really struggle with akuma but the walking back people do my head in. I think its mainly cos I'm not patient enough. 19:33 need to play slow.....
@ZachHenke3 ай бұрын
Yeah. Most people that aren’t very good players aren’t going to play patiently properly. They’ll either give up too much space by playing passively, or they’ll abandon it entirely.
