shane your lessons are always so much fun and i think you have the most laid back and inviting teaching style on the net :) there are always more pearls of wisdom to be mined below the surface as well. for instance you suggesting that we begin the main riff on an up pick rather than a down pick. it’s genius! none of the other tutorials mention that, and i never would have thought of it. sure, you can start it on the down pick and it works ok, but all the possibilities really open up when you start the riff on the upstroke. you can suddenly integrate all the chord changes and strumming seamlessly, and effortlessly return to the riff as well. i love it! thanks so much for your lessons, shane. they brighten my day for sure. cheers!

Great lesson as always - there's nobody else who explains the rhythm and timing as well as you. One question, don't you usually include a full play through at the end of your lessons?

Thank you Eddie - I appreciate the encouraging words and am very glad you enjoyed. This video precedes the play through videos I’ve been doing for quite some time now. Maybe a good idea to redo it and add the play through. Cheers! Shane

between the main riff and the e chord you are still strumming (one down/up) which gives the whole thing flow. Are you palm muting that or just hitting open strings? Cheers.
